Welcome to the School Board of Education's information page.
The Clinton Community School Board consists of seven community members who are elected at-large to four year terms. They volunteer their time to attend meetings and serve on sub-committees of the board.

We encourage your comments... There is a specific time set aside at each meeting for public communication to the Board. At that time interested people may present comments, suggestions, or concerns, even if they are not on the agenda. However, an item must be included on the agenda before the Board can officially take action.
If you wish to comment at Board meetings... Individuals or groups who wish to comment on an item on the agenda, or an item not on the agenda, should complete the form located on the table inside of the Board room and give the form to the Board President prior to the meeting. The president will call on you at the appropriate time.
If you wish to be on the agenda... Individuals or groups who wish to place an item on the agenda should do so by writing the Superintendent at 1401 12th Ave., No., Clinton, Iowa 52732. Requests should include name, address, phone number, organization represented, purpose of presentation, and pertinent background information. Requests must be received the week prior to the Board meeting.
Educational Philosophy of the School District The Clinton Community School District is committed to provide all students with equal access to a challenging, well-designed curriculum and to develop partnerships with families and other stakeholders to accomplish its goals. High expectations from a caring community will encourage students to excel academically and to prepare for successful transitions to lifelong learning and the world of work in a global society.
The content of the Clinton Community School District Curriculum will be derived from multiple sources including national academic standards, professional expertise, and community members. Curriculum content will be organized 12-K to provide vertical alignment and horizontal coordination that guarantee a logical sequence of learning from grade level to grade level. The overall curriculum will facilitate the academic, social, physical, emotional, and career development of all students.
Teachers in the Clinton Community School District will use a variety of instructional strategies that are supported by empirical research to deliver the curriculum and accommodate diverse student learning styles and intelligences. Instructors will be student-centered, passionate, and enthusiastic individuals who use contemporary technologies and who utilize community resources in an integrated, interdisciplinary context. The development of a non-threatening and nurturing culture in the district is essential for instructional excellence.
Clinton Community School District teachers and instructional leaders will implement a comprehensive assessment plan that is aligned to Clinton Community School District standards and benchmarks to measure student performance and organizational health. Authentic and relevant indicators will be used to evaluate and adjust instructional programs.
