Welcome to the Clinton High
School Counseling Page
The Mission of the Clinton Community School District's School Counseling Department is to provide students with a comprehensive, developmental guidance and counseling program, centered around an engaging curriculum that encourages the highest level of student achievement through their growth in academic, personal/social and career domains. In partnership with all district educators and a caring community, district school counselors will assist all students to be successful lifelong learners and problem solvers.
CHANGES TO THE CHS COUNSELING DEPARTMENT
One thing that always seems to happen is change. Some changes have been made in our office that we wanted you to be aware of. First, we welcome Mr. Evans Bradley to the counseling office. He is replacing Mr. Conrad Keibler. Second, Ms. Sievers was married over the summer and now is Mrs. DeWulf. Third, and the biggest change, is that we are no longer servicing students by last name. We are now staying with a class until they graduate. Therefore the breakdown is as follows:
Meet the School Counseling Department Staff
Class of 2013 Department Chair Class of 2015 Class of 2016
Class of 2014
Counseling Secretary Registrar
AWARDS RECEIVED BY THE CHS SCHOOL COUNSELING DEPARTMENT
The RAMP (Recognized ASCA Model Program) award:
The RAMP designation, awarded to schools that align with the criteria set in the American School Counseling Association's National Model, recognizes schools that are committed to delivering a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program in an exemplary educational environment. To date, more that 180 schools nationwide have been designated as RAMP award winners since the program started in 2003. The Clinton High School Counseling Department intially received this award in 2003 and they have qualified for it again in 2012.
The John L. Thompson Award for Excellence in School Counseling:
This award was presented to the department at the 2008 Iowa School Counseling Association's annual conference in November. John L. Thompson was a former school counselor whose family presents an award to a school counselor or program each year in memory of him. The CHS School Counseling Department was awarded this honor for their C.H.A.R.G.E. program which is an acronym for Clinton High's Active Response to Graduating Everyone.
Connect EDU is the website that the School Counseling Office uses to keep students and parents informed of visits from college representatives and local scholarship information (This used to be Prep HQ). A major benefit to registering on Connect EDU is that once a student saves a college or university as one of their favorites, they will be emailed when the college has set up their visit to CHS. NOTE: If students have already set up their Connect EDU account with the counseling staff, their account is their personal email and their password is Clinton and their Student ID Number. Example = Clinton1234
Starting in 2009 the three Iowa Regent Universities (Iowa, Iowa State, and UNI) began using a new admissions tool, the Regent Admission Index (RAI). To learn more about this click on the link above.
