Kenneth Ploen – Class of 1953
Induction Class of 2013 – Football
Ken Ploen is a 1953 graduate of Clinton High School. Ploen was an All-State athlete in three sports in high school. In 1956, Ploen became the starting quarterback for the University of Iowa and led the Hawkeyes to victory in the 1957 Rose Bowl.
After college, Ploen played professionally in the Canadian Football league where he led his team to four championships. Ploen is a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame, Rose Bowl Hall of Fame, and the University of Iowa Hall of Fame.
