Leann Boerema – Class of 1998
Induction Class of 2015 – Basketball, Softball, Track & Field, Volleyball
Leann Boerema is a 1998 graduate of Clinton High School. Boerema was a four sport athlete. Boerema was named to All-Conference Teams in softball, volleyball, and basketball during her years at CHS, but it was in track and field that her talent really showed. Boerema won seven conference championships and three district championships. Boerema is a three-time Drake Relays champion, winning the shot put in 1997 and 1998 and the discus in 1998. Boerema is also a two-time state champion in the shot put, winning in 1997 and 1998.
After high school, Boerema attended the University of Nebraska, winning the Big 12 shot put championship in 2000. Boerema was named to the All-Academic Big 12 Team for four consecutive years. Boerema also participated in the United States Olympic trials in 2000 and 2004.
