Dean Burridge is a 1946 graduate of Clinton High School. Burridge was a member of the famous “Fire-wagon Five” basketball team of the mid 1940’s. Burridge was selected as an All-State performer in Football by the Des Moines Register and the Iowa Daily Press Association, as well as an All-State performer in basketball by the Associated Press and the Iowa Daily Press Association. Burridge led the Mississippi Valley Conference in scoring his senior year.
After high school, Burridge attended Illinois State University where he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. Burridge was selected conference MVP in football in 1950 and was inducted into the Illinois State University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1974.
