Jeff Jacobs – Class of 1982
Induction Class of 2015 – Cross Country
Jeff Jacobs is a 1982 graduate of Clinton High School. Jacobs was the 1981 state cross country champion. Jacobs led Clinton High School to the 1981 state title. Jacobs was the runner-up in both 1979 and 1980. Jacobs was also the state champion in the 3200 meter run in 1981 and runner-up in 1980.
Jacobs continued his running career at the University of Illinois. He was a two time All-American in cross country and was a Big Ten Champion in 1986. After college, Jacobs was a three-time Olympic trials qualifier in the 10,000 meter run and the marathon. Jacobs graduated from the University of Illinois in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in engineering. Jacobs was inducted into the Iowa Association of Track Coaches Hall of Fame in 2006.
