Induction Class of 2015 – Wrestling
Steve Knight is a 1983 graduate of Clinton High School. At CHS Knight was a two-time state champion in wrestling, winning titles in 1981 and 1982.
After high school, he attended Iowa State University where he was a Big 12 Champion and an NCAA All-American. In 1992, Knight won the Pan-American championship and was an alternate of the 1992 Olympic wrestling team that competed in Barcelona, Spain.
Since retiring, from active wrestling, Knight has been involved in coaching, including serving on the US Olympic coaching staff in 2000 and 2004. In 2013, Knight was inducted into the Iowa High School Athletic Association Wrestling Hall of Fame.
