David Johnson, a 2010 graduate of Clinton High School, was a multi-sport athlete who excelled in football, basketball and track.

As a senior, David was voted 1st Team All-State in football, leading the River Kings to a 11-1 record and accounting for 42 touchdowns.  He also holds the school records for career receptions, career receiving yards, career and single-season total offense and single game record for touchdowns (6).

In basketball, David was a 2nd Team All-State performer and helped the team advance to the 2010 State Tournament.  On the track, he was a member of two state championship relay teams in the 4×400 and 4×200.

David went on to attend the University of Northern Iowa where he continued his football career.  While there, he set school records for career rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, and career all-purpose yards.

In 2015, David was drafted by the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals with the 86th overall pick.  He earned 1st Team All-Pro honors in 2016 and was selected to the NFL’s Pro Bowl.  In 2020, David was traded to the Houston Texans.

David currently resides in the Houston, Texas area with his wife, Meghan, and their three children.
