Professional Learning Communities

(PLC) Overview

In 2011, the Clinton Schools began implementation of a process for teachers to work together to improve instruction and student learning called Professional Learning Communities (PLC). Characterizing PLCs are groups of teachers, who work collaboratively, to assure each student learns what is most important. Teachers in effective PLCs use assessment data to improve their instruction and respond to students who are and are not learning what is being taught.

In 2016, Solution Tree designated the Clinton School District as a Model PLC District, one of only forty such districts worldwide, for our sustained commitment in helping ALL of our students achieve at high levels. To learn more about the PLC work being done at the building level, please contact the individual principals directly.
