  • Congratulations to Mr. Jones for being staff of the week! Mr. Jones is funny, relatable, and helpful whatever class he is in!

  • It’s the last day Dude Be Nice Week! Please listen for today's trivia question and 2nd hour teachers can email the answer to julianaclark@csdkq.org. Winners will be announced on Monday! Today's question is: How many countries celebrate world kindness day? Again, how many countries celebrate world kindness day? 2nd hour teachers please email the answer to julianaclark@csdkq.org!

  • In honor of National School Library Month we'll learn 5 reasons to visit the CHS library! Our last reason to visit the CHS library is that you NEVER know what you'll find!  We try to make sure there is something for everyone in the library:  Books, things to help you relax, a friendly face, whatever you need at the time.  Libraries are for everyone! Don’t forget to come get your free gift. It is a Sticker. We have one for everyone but you need to come ask for it.

  • No school Monday.  But remember to bring your computers and chargers on Tuesday & Wednesday so we can finish up the ISASP testing.

  • Attention girls interested in playing softball:  The season is quickly approaching.  The first official day of tryouts is April 29th at 6PM and Eagle Heights.  See Mrs. Baker for a white card.  You cannot practice without one.

  • CHS International Club will volunteer at the Eagle Point Dog Park this Sunday, April 21. Please meet at the Nature Center (red barn) at 12 PM. See Mrs. Krueger if you have any questions.

  • Juniors & Seniors: Prom sign up has started.  You must sign up using the google form sent to you on April 12th.  IF you have a date who doesn’t go to CHS then you ALSO need to get an Out of School Date Form filled out and returned to the library. Just filling out an out of school date form does not get you signed up.

  • Students: Check your emails for an invite to fill out a form about attending the Excellence in Academics awards that will be on April 26th. The form must be completed by April 24th. If not filled out it will be considered “not attending” and you will not be able to participate in the ceremony.

  • Haan, Rowden, Grinnall, Atkinson, Gonzales, Brown, and Manikowski swept all the varsity positions against Davenport North at the girls varsity tennis meet at River Cities Tennis Facility last night.  Way to carry on that tradition of winning that the queen tennis players have been known for the past 41 years!

  • Last night, the River Queen Soccer team hosted Orion for their Senior night match. Another close match, the score was tied 2-2 after 80 minutes of regulation play. The Queens lost a heart breaker in overtime,  2-3. Scoring the first goal for the Queens was Diana Marcos on an assist from Alex Tucker. Scoring the 2nd goal and winning the "Boomshakalaka" award was Shayna Nettles! Working hard in goal was keeper Liv Watters who recorded 9 saves. Thank you to all of the Queens for putting up a great fight, especially Seniors Shelsy Aguilar, Belinda Cuatlatl, Lydia Davis, Kendie Huizenga, Camry Logan, and Alex Tucker! We are proud to have you working on our team, thank you for your years of service!!

  • The boys soccer team traveled to Pleasant Valley to take on the Spartans on Thursday night. Despite facing a defeat, they displayed remarkable resilience against one of the state's top teams. Sophomore Kyler Jahn was selected as the team's Man of the Match, for his leadership and communication in controlling the midfield, and being the center of some impressive passing sequences. The entire defense, composed of Logan Dondiego, Brady Kurtz, Scott Pasakarnis, Lincoln Hinrichs, Eli Rapp, Ty Sander-Welzein, and Joaquin Donaire all deserve recognition for their dedication and contributions.

  • Last night the River King underclassmen competed in the very competitive Dubuque "Harold Sweet" Invitational with some of the best teams in the state. The varsity Kings placed 12th and the JV Kings finished fifth. The squad earned multiple PRs and high place finishes.

  • Placing high for the varsity were: 3rd place: Tytus Wright, 200m. 5th place: Jordan Coleman, 200m. 6th place: Coleman, high jump. 7th place: 800m medley relay of Josh Orr, Kobe Worrels, Bryant Lee, Cohen Thorpe. 1600m Medley relay of Wright, Jace Hellweg, Kaleb Soppe, Ed Weiner.
