CLINTON, IA – March 9, 2026 – The Clinton Community School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Jill Van Roekel as the District’s next Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Board Secretary. Van Roekel, a highly qualified professional with over 25 years of experience in governmental accounting and auditing, will oversee the District’s financial operations, budgeting, and fiscal compliance.

Van Roekel succeeds Cindy McAleer, who is retiring after 13 years of dedicated service to the District.

Van Roekel joins the District from the North Scott Community School District, where she has served as the Director of Business Affairs since 2013. In that role, she was responsible for all financial affairs, including supervising payroll, managing capital expenditures, and developing annual balanced budgets. Her tenure at North Scott was marked by 13 consecutive years of receiving the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials International and Government Finance Officers Association.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jill to our leadership team," said Superintendent Dr. Wes Golden. "Her extensive experience in Iowa school finance and her commitment to transparency make her the perfect fit to guide and oversee our District finances. We will greatly miss Cindy McAleer’s expertise and thank her for her 13 years of exceptional service. With Jill's track record of excellence, our District will remain on a path of strong fiscal health and accountability."

Before transitioning into school finance, Van Roekel spent 13 years as a Senior Manager at Winkel, Parker & Foster CPA PC in Clinton, where she managed the firm's governmental audit practice. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from St. Ambrose University and is a graduate of the Iowa School Business Management Academy.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the Chief Financial Officer for the Clinton Community School District," said Van Roekel. "I look forward to working cooperatively with the Board of Education and administration to allocate resources effectively, ensuring we provide the best possible educational services to our students and community."

Van Roekel is an active member of the Iowa school finance community and holds a current School Business Official Authorization. She will officially begin her duties July 1, 2026.
