  • Do you have a talent you would like to share with your community? Sign up for the 2025 variety show! You can scan the QR codes around the school, or email Leilani Calvillo or Lillian Asay for the Google Form to sign up. Staff involvement is highly encouraged. Anyone from CHS is welcome to sign up.   • Join us in the library for “Read a Latte” Wednesday April 16th from 7:40 am until Homeroom, and/or Monday April 28th right after school until 4:15 pm.


  • Attention Juniors!  Next year we are having the first ever Spirit King and Spirit Queen.  This will entail reading daily announcements, attending events as the face of CHS, co-hosting pep rallies and some awards ceremonies, working with a faculty panel and student council to plan events, and leading the crowds at sporting events.  Sound interesting?  Want more information?  See Mr. D. Schneeberger, Mr. McEwen, Mrs. Leafgreen, Mrs. Rallie, or Ms. Bradway for an application or with any questions.  Go River Kings and Queens!


  • IASAP Testing is this week. It is very important that you take these tests and try your best when taking them.  Make sure you charge your computers & bring your chargers to school.  The library will not have loaner chargers available during testing. So if you are low on power you will need to come get a loaner computer.


  • Juniors and Seniors: Make sure you are talking to your friends about going to Prom and getting signed-up for the dance.  If you have a friend who is online, at EAC, or graduated early let them know sign-up has started.


  • The River Queen Track and Field hosted senior night at the River King and Queen Complex last night. The Queens had a great night all around placing 3rd out of 15 teams. There were several PRs and great times last night. Placing for the Queens are the following. Aubrey Fergurson 6th place Discus. Aubrey Fergurson 4th place Shot Put. Joselyn Petersen 3rd place Long Jump. Elle Lonergan 1st place High Jump. Lauren Whitney 6th place High Jump. Alli Haskell 8th place High Jump. Sprint Medley team of Jensen, Carpenter, Steiner, Sattler 4th place. Shuttle Hurdle team of Williams, Bedford, Samuels, Liv Lonergan 3rd place. Aubrey Rivers 6th place 1500. 4x100 team of Jensen, Carpenter, Russell, Williams 6th place. 4x400 team of Samuels,Steiner,Whitney,Sattler 3rd place.  The Coaching Staff is proud of all of you and want to thank everyone that came out and supported the Queens tonight. The Queens are back at it Thursday at the Jesse Day relays.


  • River Kings Tennis hosted the Davenport Central Blue Devils on Tuesday.  Lucas Hilgendorf got the Kings on the scoreboard first with a decisive 6-0, 6-0 singles match!  Ed Weiner prevailed in similar fashion, finishing next with a 6-1, 6-0 win!  Nate Frye was triumphant as well, winning 6-4, 6-2!  Jacob Feddersen shook off a slow start taking his opponent the distance and scraping his way to victory 2-6, 6-1, TB 10-4!  The double teams (Feddersen Bros, Nitschke & Hilgendorf, Frye & Weiner) put the pedal to the metal and cruised for 3 more match wins!  Final score 7-2.  Great work team!


  • Last night the River Queens soccer team hosted Muscatine High School in the Queens home opener. The Muskies proved that they are one of the top teams in the MAC Conference this season, defeating the Queens by a score of 10-0. Continuing her work in goal for the Queens was Livia Watters with 13 saves. Picking up some reps in varsity action was Brooklyn Cooley who recorded 2 saves.  The JV Queens lost their match 3-0. Cooley had 6 saves in the JV game.  The Queens are back in action tomorrow as they host Geneseo here at CHS. The Varsity squad kicks off the action at 5:00pm. Come out and cheer on the QUEENS!!


  • At the River Queen tennis match Haan, Rowden, Grinnall, Gonzalez, Srp, Atkinson all won singles and doubles against Davenport Central at the varsity level.  The junior varsity tennis team also brought in many wins, 9-1 overall win.
