DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thursday April 24 2025

I Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one Nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

  • Join us in the library for “Read a Latte” Monday April 28th right after school until 4:15 pm.

  • Juniors and Seniors: Make sure you are talking to your friends about going to Prom and getting signed-up for the dance.  If you have a friend who is online, at EAC, or graduated early let them know sign-up is almost over.  Attendance bites a lot of people so make sure you are getting those grades passing & paying off your fees. Sign-up ends on Friday, April 25 @ 3:45. After you sign up, stop in the library to make sure your response went through and to check on your requirements.

  • An Ok list for Prom has been posted outside the library.  If you signed up and are not on the list, ask in the library to see what you need to do.

  • Juniors and Seniors - check for an email from Ms. Redpath for the first round of prom court voting! Please fill out the form by the end of the day on Friday.

  • The sign up for Prom Ends on Friday @ 3:45pm.  If you want to go make sure you get signed up by then.  If your date doesn’t go to CHS your Out of School date forms are also due on Friday.

  • The fees that need to be paid to go to Prom are not just your fees from this school year.  They are any CHS computer, book, athletic, activity, band, or parking fees along with CMS book fees.  If you are not sure which of your fees need to be paid for the Dance ask in the library.

  • After-School Tutoring is being offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 - 4:45 in the New Library!  There is no cost.  We have staff in most of the core classes available! Please ask a CHS teacher or administrator if you would like to attend! Time is running out to get grades up for Prom.  Let our Tutors help you.

  • It was a beautiful, sunny day for the River Queen golfers as they competed in the 10 team Falcon Invitational yesterday taking 6th place.  Whitney Naughton was team medalist with a 111, her career low 18 hole round.  Olivia Veenstra shot 114, Bryleigh Shepherd 116 (also a career low), and Olivia Parker 120, to round out the scoring for the Queens.  Natalee Faur tied her career low and A'Reyae Jetter in her first 18 hole meet ever also participated for the Queens. The team score yesterday for the Queens was also the lowest in the last 3 three seasons. Lots of improvement in the young team which has no seniors.  The Queens are in action again tomorrow at Glynn's Creek.

  • River Kings Tennis went on the road to take on the Bettendorf Bulldogs Tuesday. Halfway through the match, rain forced us to suspend play until the following day. Already in a 0-2 deficit, the Kings came close to splitting the remaining singles matches but secured only 1 win in the end by #2 Tanner Feddersen (6-4, 6-1). In doubles, the Feddersen Bros picked up another big win at #1 (6-1, 7-6 TB 8-6). Final match score was 2-7, but Kings played much better than what the score reflected. Go Kings!
