Homecoming is only a few weeks away - October 4th. The Royalty Rack is now officially open to all students. The Royalty Rack is a collection of formal wear, including dresses, dress shirts, shoes, etc., that is completely free for you to take to use for dances and/or interviews. The River Queen swimmers were at home again last night, facing conference foe North Scott. Despite having their 3rd meet in 4 days, the Queens once again showed up and swam great, posting convincing victories over the Lancers 84-53 in the Varsity contest and 20-0 in the JV. The Varsity Queens took home victories in 8 out of the 11 events in a complete team effort where every member of the team scored points en route to the victory. The Queens are back in action next Tuesday, 9/23 for Senior Night in their final home meet of the season against Pleasant Valley.
Last night your 18th ranked varsity River Queens XC team took home first place at the North Scott Invitational. The Queens were led by Aubrey Rivers 1st, Carryn Sattler 2nd, Cambyl Sattler 3rd, Alli Haskell 4th, and Natalia Connolly 32nd. The Queens ran aggressively and battled the heat and humidity to come out on top. The JV Queens placed 3rd and were led by medalists Avery Balog 11th and Sophia Morley 15th. Chloe Ellis 17th, Riley Reynolds 18th, and Kaylee Davis 27th rounded out the bronze medal finish for the JV Queens. The varsity River Kings placed 4th and were led by Brecken Lemke 16th, CJ Estes 20th, Kolton Lorion 25th, David Peralta-Flores 33rd, and Alonso Aguila 36th. The JV Kings earned a 5th place finish and were led by Jayden Krogmann 21st, Maddox Mojeiko 32nd, Evan Daniels 34th, Anthony Sayson 36th, Asher Dornbush 37, and Carter Dunham 38th.
The River Queens Volleyball program traveled down to Davenport West for a MAC showdown on Tuesday night. The Queens started and finished hot. The JV team raced out to a quick start in set 1 defeating the Falcons 25-21. The Falcons started set two and built a commanding mid-set lead, but the Queens battled the storm and finished the second set 25-22. The sophomore Queens cruised to victory 25-19, 25-13, and 25-10. The Queens ran away with sets two and three for the sweep! The varsity Queens defeated the Falcons 3-1 on Tuesday night. Joselyn Petersen led the offense with 11 kills on 30 attacking attempts. Alaina Carpenter ran a smooth offense as she dished out 26 total assists. Maggie House led the service line with 5 aces. Haley Thomas had 9 total digs, while Tenley Cewe passed a team high 2.20 in serve receive. The Queens improved their record to 6-7, yes, that's six...seven! The Queens travel to DeWitt on Thursday for another MAC match on the road this week, before they return home to host their home invite on Saturday morning.
