  • CHS International Club will volunteer at the Fall Festival on Saturday, October 18 from 11AM to 3PM at the Nature Center in the Eagle Point Park. If you would like to help and get volunteering hours, please let Mrs. Krueger know. 


  • CHS Table Tennis Club will meet Today, October 16 during Flex Time 2 outside A 317. 


  • The Building Futures Career Expo, at the QCCA Expo Center, provides a hands-on chance to explore careers in the construction trades! Try out real activities, see equipment in action, learn directly from industry professionals. The Expo takes place on Tuesday, November 18th.  The Bus leaves CHS at 10:00am and returns at 1:30pm.  All grades are welcomed but we only have room to take 50 students. Any of your teachers can get you registered. The registration deadline is Wednesday, October 22. Every participant receives a FREE lunch and event T-shirt!


  • Ready to show your River King Spirit? Winter Cheer tryouts are coming up. Get your application from Ms. Schroeder and bring it to clinic day on Tuesday Oct 28 4-6pm in the practice gym. Tryouts will be the following day starting at 4pm. We can't wait to see you! THF


  • Monday Oct 20th Boys Basketball will be having a preseason meeting during 1st flex in Mr. Petersen's room. If you are interested in playing, please stop up and see Mr. Petersen in room 318 to get the information needed for the upcoming season.


  • After-School Tutoring is being offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 - 4:45 in the New Library!  There is no cost.  We have staff in most of the core classes available! Please ask a CHS teacher or administrator if you would like to attend! If you need to get grades up to keep from falling too far behind this is the place to be.


  • Last night the River King and Queen Cross Country team competed in the MAC Meet.  The fresh/soph boys placed 4th and were led by Brecken Lemke, Anthony Sason, Cael Schwartz, Maddux Mojeiko, Miles Schneeberger, Mason McAvoy and Henry Bell. The Kings were only five points off of third place Bettendorf.  The junior varsity boys placed 9th and were led by Joey Anderson, Evan Daniels, Asher Dornbush, Logan Spooner and Carson Borgman.  The varsity boys placed 9th were led by CJ Estes, Kolton Lorion, Conner Roberts, David Peralta-Flores, Jayden Krogmann, Carter Dunham, and Alonso Aguila.  The junior varsity Queens were led by Sophia Morley, Riley Reynolds, Chloe Ellis, and Kaylee Davis.  The River Queen varsity team placed third and we’re led by Cambyl Sattler, 6th place, first team all conference; Carryn Sattler, 7th place, first team all conference; Aubrey Rivers, 10th place, second team all conference, Alli Haskell 16th place, Natalia Connolly and Kirstin Bengtson. The Queens narrowly missed 2nd place by nine points.  Overall, the Kings and Queens competed hard and earned 16 PR’s and three season's best.
