It is not safe to walk outside from the south lot to the academic wing (no sidewalk and a slippery curvy drive). That is why students need to be parking over by Coan Field and entering the building through the Hall or Fame doors (D26)
Seniors: If you are planning to attend a college, university, or technical/trade program after graduation, please make sure you have completed your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Several of you still need to fill out your application. Completing the FAFSA is an important step in determining your eligibility for federal, state, and institutional financial aid. The FFA meeting is today 12/3/25 in the woodshop during first flex.
The CHS Volleyball Players banquet will be held on Sunday, December 7th at Manny's in Fulton. The meal and program will start at 6:00pm.
Girls soccer -- Next open gym is this Saturday, December 6th at 12 noon at CHS. Please meet in the lobby of Yourd gym. You may enter through the athletes entrance on the Southwest side of Yourd, or through the Hall of Fame entrance. Proceed to the lobby of Yourd, do not go into the gym when you first arrive.
The River King Basketball program opened up their season with a non conference game against Cedar Rapids Jefferson at Home. The sophomore team started the night off on fire with multiple runouts on great open court passes from teammates and opened up with a 36-18 halftime lead. The Kings finished the game with a 65-45 win with everyone getting a chance to see the floor. Varsity delivered an impressive 76-67 home victory over CR Jefferson, The team showcased exceptional offensive firepower and resilience throughout the contest. Blayn Robinson emerged as the star of the night, putting together a phenomenal performance with 29 points on incredibly efficient 10-of-12 shooting from the field and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. Cole Shannon contributed 22 points while shooting 50% from the field and an outstanding 10-of-12 from the charity stripe. Marshall Johnson provided solid support with 8 points on efficient shooting, while Konnor Schroeder chipped in 7 points, including that crucial first-quarter three-pointer. Despite CR Jefferson's spirited third-quarter rally that included a 9-point scoring streak, RK Basketball maintained their composure and pulled away in the final period. Great Job Kings
The Varsity Queens played Davenport North last night and brought some aggressive defense and great passing giving the Queens a 33-3 lead after the 1st quarter setting a school record for most points in a quarter. The Queens went into halftime with a 52-8 point lead setting another record for most points in a half. Ending the game 79-21, the Queens were 1 point shy of setting the record for most points in a game. Jhaliana Guy led the way in scoring with 28 followed by 16 from Carryn Sattler. The Queens had 8 other girls get into the scoring column as well. They are at home on Friday against the Davenport Central Blue Devils. Go Queens!
