  • The FFA will be meeting today during first flex in the welding shop.


  • Students taking CCC classes, either online or through the academy during the second semester, are required to attend a meeting during FLEX 1 today (Wednesday, 1/7) or tomorrow (Thursday, 1/8) in the auditorium. Students only need to attend one of the meetings, but attendance is important and will be taken. If you have any questions, please email Marla at marla.schultz@csdkq.org.


  • Attention wrestlers: Boys Wrestling practice is from 6 to 8 tonight, Also it's time again for Grade check.  Please see Ms. Baldwin in the library to get a form.  They are due FRIDAY at the start of Practice.


  • On January 19th, iJAG will be hosting a Canned Food Drive as part of our Day of Service Learning. We are asking students and staff to bring in non-perishable food items to support those in need. All donations will go directly to the Vince Jetter Community Center, helping families in our local community. The drive will take place between January 6th-16th. For more information please email Mrs.Lemon-Levy or Mrs.Harris.  Every donation counts!


  • It is officially Sweater Weather at Clinton High School. Stop by the library and check out the staff-designed sweaters displayed near the library doors. Each design brings creativity, personality, and school spirit to the season.  Once you have picked your favorite, head to the circulation desk to grab a voting slip and cast your vote for the best sweater design. Students and staff are both encouraged to participate.  Voting is open now through Friday, January 17. Take a few minutes, enjoy the designs, and help us decide which sweater truly brings the cozy vibes this winter.


  • Attention all boys soccer players: Open gym starts back up today at Clinton Middle School from 5:15pm - 7:00pm. Please contact Coach Kruse if you have any questions.


  • Finals will be here really soon, use your time wisely between now and finals to get your work finished, turned in, and make sure you understand the material.  Go to flexes to get help, use the online Fullmind Tutor (M, W, S), and/or come to our After School Tutoring (T, TH).   


  • Pride Club is having a Game Night today 01/07 from 4-5:30 in R Ciner’s room (A107) and all are welcome to attend.


  • FBLA.... Practice for district competition will happen 1st and 2nd flex on Thursday.  Our conference is this Saturday!


  • Congratulations River Kings wrestlers on going 3-0 last night at Beckman. The Kings beat Marion 45-27, Beckman 45-27 and Maquoketa 64-17. The River Kings were led by Mark Stoddard, Adis Ravmanoski, Jakob Litherland, Hunter Ball, Brody Harrington, Isaiah Lines, Danny Peters, Nolan Eggers, Damarius Robinson, Cooper Cooley , Hayden Chandler, and Sloan Weaver who all had huge wins on the night. JV Winners were Riley Engelkins, Jason Wheat, Chase Collender, Joaquin Donaire, Jack George, David Peralta-Flores, Liam Petersen. Great Job Kings


  • The River King swimmers were back in action last night against a tough opponent in Dubuque Senior. CHS competed hard, but ultimately fell to the Rams, 119-42. Despite the tough competition, the Kings showed their competitiveness and had a number of great swims including multiple lifetime bests. Cameron Zimmer brought home the lone event win for the Kings in the 500 free. Picking up season/lifetime best swims were Trey Dykstra, Cale Lampe, Jace Burgland, Jayden Krogmann, Saul Marcos, Carson Borgman, Asher Dornbush, Dylan Todtz and Vinnie Srp. The Kings are back in action on Saturday at the Mustang Invite at Dubuque Hempstead.


  • The River Queens basketball program got back on track last night versus the West Falcons winning big in both games.  The JV girls won 55-20 and move to 5-3 on the season.  Lilly Schneeberger was hot again from the outside hitting 5 threes and ended up with 16 points while Audry Gruhn had 14 and Tenley Cewe with 10. The Varsity girls came out quick getting up early and coasted to a 66-38 win and move to 5-4.  Many girls filled the stat sheet last night with Jhaliana Guy leading the way in scoring with 31. Lilly Hankins and Carryn Sattler both had 8.  Sattler also added 10 rebounds while Samantha Powell added 8, Aubrey Fergurson 7 and Alli Haskell 7.  Guy added 6 steals and Haskell had 4 assists.  Congrats to Aubrey Fergurson who became Clinton's all-time career leading rebounder!  If you see her, make sure you tell her "Great Job"!  The Queens play next on Friday at Muscatine and again on Saturday vs. Sterling in the Iowa-Illinois Shootout.


  • Last night the River Kings came back from break against Davenport West at home last night. The Freshman squad kicked off the night on fire, with plenty of run outs and sharing the ball. A total team effort led to a 63-17 win for the Freshman. The sophomores started slow in their game, down by a score of 22-37 at halftime. The sophomore group came out inspired in the third quarter, pressuring the Falcons and cutting the lead down to 8. The Kings fought hard but ultimately came up short with a final of 55-69. The Varsity team ran into a tough Falcon basketball squad who shot the ball well. The kings fell by a score of 52-77. The Kings are back in action Friday evening in a boy girl doubleheader at Muscatine High school. Go Kings!
