  • The River Queen Track and Field team will be having a sign up and schedule pick up on Thursday February 5th after school in the lobby of Yourd gym. Please stop by and sign up and get a schedule so you know what's going on as the season starts on Feb 23rd.  This will take 5 mins or less. ?s email Coach Steen


  • Remember the library is still a library during Flex times.  If you are coming to the library during flex the voices need to be kept low or off so other students can work or read.  If talking with your friends is your plan, please spend your flex in the commons.  You are also not allowed to eat lunch items in the library.


  • If you see a River Queen wrestler today, wish them luck as they compete in their Regional tournament today in Independence!


  • Today is Birthday Cake day for January AND July! Stop by the purple wall during lunch


  • Have you set goals for 2nd semester?  Do you wish to see your GPA improve?  Want to achieve greater success?  The counseling office will be offering a small group during 2nd semester where we will work on soft skills together to help support you in achieving your goals. Please email Mr. Avise-Rouse if you are interested.


  • Remember to get items borrowed from the Library returned. Loaner computers, LOANER CHARGERS, headphones, overdue/”lost” library books.  The library needs them back please.


  • Attention = Girls Soccer: The next OPEN GYM will be Saturday, January 31st at 12:30pm in Yourd Gym.


  • Congratulations River Kings for an outstanding performance at the JV Mac Tournament yesterday. The entire team fought hard and wrestled with tenacity. Placing for the Kings were Cormac Nichols 2nd, Angel Lines 3rd, Diego Donaire, Liam Petersen placed 4th. 5th place winners were Oliver Steward , Bastien Balous and Magnus Kjormoe. Jason Wheat and Roger Schumacher placed 6th. Riley Engelkins placed 7th and Titus Moody placed 8th. Outstanding Job wrestlers!


  • Congratulations River King Varsity wrestlers on going 3-0 at Bellevue last night. The Kings had decisive wins against Bellevue 60-15, Postville 68-12 and finished their night with a 75-4 victory over Midland. Mark Stoddard, Carter Cant, Jakob Litherland, Camdynn Bray, Brody Harrington, Alfonso Herrera, Chase Collender, Isaiah Lines, Danny Peters, Nolan Eggers, Damarius Robinson, Cooper Cooley , Hayden Chandler and Sloan Weaver all contributed with big wins on the night. Fantastic job wrestlers! The Kings head to the MAC Conference tournament Saturday at Assumption.


  • Yesterday, January 29th, the CHS Varsity Girls bowling team attended the MAC Conference Tournament.  The Girls took 1st Place and are the 2026 MAC Conference Champions.  After 15 games of Baker they had a score of 2898 and were seeded 1st ahead of Bettendorf with 2718, North Scott with a  2519, and Pleasant Valley with a 2427.  In brackets the River Queens faced the Spartans and won with scores of 189 and 238 to their 145 and 207.  This put them into the Championship bracket where they faced the Bettendorf Bulldogs.  They kept their momentum and beat the Bulldogs with scores of 215 and 188 to their 168 and 180 becoming the 2026 MAC Conference Champions!  They finished the season undefeated in meets at 8 – 0 and took home three tournament championships and two 2nd place finishes.  The River Queens will be attending their State Qualifying Meet on Monday, February 2nd at their home alley Plaza Bowl at 10AM.  Great job this year and good luck at your State Qualifier!
