  • Clinton High will be offering the ACT on April 7th at the National Guard Armory. It will be offered for half price, $29, IF all requirements are met with ACT Prep. Please pick up a contract from Mrs. Klinkhammer and return with check or cash before February 13th at 3:30.

  • Read a Latte will meet Friday, Feb 6th during both flexes in the library.

  • An admissions rep from Loras College will be visiting the counseling office on February 12 at 1:00pm. Please let Mrs. Klinkhammer know if you would be interested in meeting with them.

  • The Camanche Trap Team is starting the 2026 spring trap shooting season in a few weeks. There is an Informational meeting Thursday, February 19th at the Imperial Lanes in Camanche at 6:30pm.  This is open to students from any school 5th -12th grade. Questions or can’t make the meeting call Coach Adam Frahm 563-212-6187.

  • Attention - girls soccer - OPEN GYM this Saturday, February 7th at 12:30pm in Yourd Gym.

  • Pride Club will be meeting after school Today, 02/03 in R Ciner’s room for anyone interested.

  • Republican Club will meet Today 02/03 during Flex 2 in Mr. Westfall's Room (A 101)

  • The River Queen Track and Field team will be having a sign up and schedule pick up on Thursday February 5th after school in the lobby of Yourd gym. Please stop by and sign up and get a schedule so you know what's going on as the season starts on Feb 23rd.  This will take 5 mins or less. ?s email Coach Steen

  • After-School Tutoring is being offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 - 4:45 in the New Library!  There is no cost.  We have staff in most of the core classes available! Please ask a CHS teacher or administrator if you would like to attend! 

  • The River Queen basketball team traveled to Pleasant Valley on Friday night to avenge two losses earlier in the season. The JV girls fought hard and got to within 3 points before falling 44-34.  It was a great improvement from the first game against PV where the Queens lost by 33.  Lilly Schneeberger scored 14 points, Tenley Cewe scored 10, Phoebe Levine 6.  Audry Gruhn and Kassidy Eggers each had 6 rebounds and Arra Green 5.  Levine also recorded 3 steals.  The JV Queens are now 10-4 on the season.  The Varsity Queens came out hot as they were trying to avenge an earlier loss from the season as well.  After the Queens cooled off, the Spartans came back to tie the game at halftime.  Down 6 points going into the 4th quarter, the Queens launched a comeback and tied the game multiple times and eventually taking the lead with 8 seconds left on a 3 pointer by Alli Haskell that sealed the victory 59-57.  Haskell ended up scoring 22 and Jhaliana Guy scored 21. Carryn Sattler also scored 9 while Lilly Hankins scored 5.  Aubrey Fergurson grabbed 9 rebounds and Hankins 6.  Haskell added 4 assists and Guy ended with 6 steals.  The Queens move to 11-7 on the season and will try to keep their streak going as they face #3 Central DeWitt tomorrow night.

  • Yesterday, 2/2, the CHS Varsity Girls bowling team hosted a 2026 Class 2A State Qualifying Tournament.  The Girls took 1st Place and were the tournament Champions.  They will be heading to Waterloo for the State Team Tournament next Tuesday.  They had a score of 2990 with the next closest team of Newton having a score of 2553.  There will also be 3 girls heading to the State Individual Tournament next Wednesday.  Laynie Steines took 8th with a score of 561, Emily Whitehead took 5th with a score of 577, and Kiara Krueger took 2nd with a score of 632.  Great job this year ladies and good luck at State!
