Softball practice starts today, Monday, May 4. Practices this week will be Monday-Thursday 5:30-7, and Friday 2-3:30 at Durgin baseball and softball complex at Eagle Heights. Please make sure that you are registered on Bound so that you can practice with us tonight. If you have any questions, reach out to Coach Stephenitch.
Baseball tryouts are 4:30 to 6pm Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week. Questions contact Coach Krause.
Girls soccer - remember, team dinner tonight in the commons at 5:00pm. Varsity is at Davenport West on Tuesday, 5/5....and Varsity goes to Bellevue Marquette on Wednesday 5/6. JV girls will practice at the complex on Tuesday and Wednesday 4:45-6:15pm.
Attention NHS members! Officer elections are in progress. If you would like to run for President, Vice President, Treasurer, or Secretary, you must complete the paperwork by May 8, elections are on May 11. You must also inform Mr. Camp or Ms. Bradway of your intent. We currently have only 1 interested party!
Students who are interested in having an Education Workplace Experience next year, if you received an email from Mr. Bengtson and have not stopped by to see him, please do so as soon as possible. This must be done in order to move forward for the experience. Thank you.
Students interested in the world of trades and transportation, the Living Lands & Waters organization is hosting a one day event on June 10, in East Moline, on their newest floating classroom barge, the Mississippi River Institute. During this FREE event, students will learn about barges, tow boating, deckhanding, and related career topics. Lunch is provided and registration is required. Availability is limited. For more details, see Mr. Bengtson in the library office.
Please join us at this week's River King Basketball open gyms in CHS Yourd gym on Monday May 4th & Wednesday May 6th 6:00pm-7:30pm! All current 8th graders are welcome to join us as well!
After-School Tutoring will now be offered Monday - Thursday from 3:45-4:45 in the Library! There is no cost. We have staff in most of the core classes available! Please ask a CHS teacher or administrator if you would like to attend!

River Kings Tennis hosted their own Invitational Tournament on Saturday. The Kings finished 5th overall. Individual place winners included Jace Burgland - 2nd at #4 Singles, Ryan Schmitz - 3rd at #5 Singles, and Asher Dornbush - 2nd at #6 Singles. Go Kings!
Friday night the River King Track and Field team competed in the Davenport Tune-up Meet. The Kings placed 2nd out of 11 teams and were led by. 1st Place: Shuttle hurdle relay of Ethan Carpenter, Carter Dunham, Max Smith, Jay Dodd. Maddux Cooley, 100m and 200m. Jay Dodd, long jump and 400LH. Distance medley of Micah Tague, Konnor Schroeder, Nate Lundin, CJ Estes. Joey Anderson, 400m. 4x400m Nate Lundin, Joey Anderson, CJ Estes, and Rylan Henson. 2nd Place: 4x200 relay of Kayden Brannum, Jordan Gruhn, Jay Dodd, Maddux Cooley. CJ Estes, 800m. 4x100 relay of Kayden Brannum, Maddux Cooley, Ethan Carpenter, and Jordan Gruhn. 3rd Place: Co-ed 4x100, Emme Jensen, Marshall Johnson, Harper Determan, and Julian Davis.4th Place: Sprint medley relay of Micah Tague, Max Smith, Joey Anderson, Rylan Henson
River Queens Finish Runner-Up in Tight Battle Friday Night. The Clinton River Queens turned in a strong performance Friday night, finishing 2nd place as a team with 129 points, just one point behind Monticello (130). But we did win the combined team championship with the River Kings. The night was highlighted by several standout performances:
Event Champions: Elle Lonergan – High Jump (5’3”). Fergurson– Shot Put (37-9.25). Carryn – 800m (2:26.35). 4x800 Relay Team – 1st place (9:57.48) of Haskell, Sattler, Steiner, Sattler.
Runner-Up Finishes: Petersen – Long Jump (16-11). Distance Medley Relay – 2nd place (4:31.41) Jensen,Davis,Steiner,Sattler and 7th all time in school history. Shuttle Hurdle Relay – 2nd place (1:13.82) MacAvoy,Gruhn,Bedford,Carpenter. Byrns - 2nd place Discus (110-1).
3rd Place Finishes: Fergurson-Discus (106-1). Sprint Medley Relay – 3rd place (2:01.69) Jensen,Determan,Gruhn,Davis. 4x100 Relay – 3rd place (54.25) Jensen,Determan,McClendon,Brown. Coed 4x100 Relay – 3rd place (49.83)Jensen,Johnson,Determan,Davis. Cambyl – 1500m (5:11.96. ).
We also had a 4th place finish from Aubrey Rivers in the 3000 and moving her to 3rd all time in school history. Alli Haskell 4th in 1500, Hill in the High Jump 4th place.
Additional strong efforts came from across the lineup, helping the River Queens stay competitive in every event and push the meet down to the final point. Great effort by the River Queens—just one point shy of the team title!
