  • All library books are due back on May 15th.  Make sure you get your books finished by then.  If you are already done please get them returned now.

  • Football will be meeting next Monday May 11th at 7:30am in the weight room to go over the Summer Football schedule. If you can not come in the morning, come to first flex down the weight room May 11th.

  • Book Club will meet on Thursday, May 7th during both flexes.

  • Baseball tryouts are 4:30 to 6pm Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week. Questions contact Coach Krause.

  • Girls soccer travels to Davenport West. Varsity kicks off at 5pm, JV will play @6:30pm.

  • Attention NHS members!  Officer elections are in progress.  If you would like to run for President, Vice President, Treasurer, or Secretary, you must complete the paperwork by May 8, elections are on May 11.  You must also inform Mr. Camp or Ms. Bradway of your intent.  We currently have only 1 interested party!

  • Students who are interested in having an Education Workplace Experience next year, if you received an email from Mr. Bengtson and have not stopped by to see him, please do so as soon as possible. This must be done in order to move forward for the experience. Thank you.

  • After-School Tutoring will now be offered Monday - Thursday from 3:45-4:45 in the Library!  There is no cost.  We have staff in most of the core classes available! Please ask a CHS teacher or administrator if you would like to attend!

  • On April 11th, Khaos Struve traveled to Eldridge, Iowa to represent the Clinton School District in the Special Olympics Track meet.  Khaos competed in the softball throw and the 100 meter wheelchair race.  In the softball throw Khaos earned 2nd place throwing 2.71 meters while in the wheelchair race Khaos brought home the Gold medal and 1st place with a time of 1:17:41.  Coach Dodd would like to thank Khaos for all her hard work and dedication to this great achievement.

  • River Queens Compete Strong at Cardinal Co-Ed Relays. The Clinton River Queens Track & Field team put together a strong showing Monday night at the Cardinal Co-Ed Relays at Northeast High School, finishing 5th as a team with 41 points.  Leading the way for the River Queens was Elle Lonergan, who continued her dominant season by winning the high jump with a clearance of 5’6”, earning 1st place points for Clinton.  On the track, Carryn Sattler delivered a great performance in the 800m run, placing 2nd overall with a time of 2:23.55.  The River Queens also saw success in the sprints and relays:  Dorianna Hill placed 3rd in the 200m dash.  The 4x200 relay team (Hensel, Hill, McClendon, Brown) finished 4th.  In the field events:  Mia Wright took 4th in shot put. Bryn Wheat added points with a 5th place finish in shot put and 4th in discus. Dorianna Hill also contributed with a 5th place finish in high jump. The River Queens continue to build momentum as they head into the next stretch of the season. Strong efforts across the board and multiple podium finishes highlight a great night of competition.

  • The River Kings soccer teams hosted Davenport West on Monday night. The junior varsity boys kicked things off with a dominant 4-0 victory. Zane Weaver got the scoring started with his second goal of the season. Diego and Joaquin Donaire pressured West into a mistake, resulting in an own goal for the second score of the game. Maddox Mojeiko found Andrew Jennings to make it 3-0. To finish it out, Lakin Jess slotted one past the keeper off a throw-in assist from Lucas Hewitt to make it 4-0. The JV boys look to keep the win streak going when they take on Bettendorf next week.  The varsity boys followed it up with a hard-fought 1-1 draw. The Kings started the scoring in the first half when Josh Liles played Lincoln Hinrichs in for a breakaway. After going into halftime up 1-0, West managed a quick break of their own in the second half to bring things level. Both sides pressed for the decisive goal, but the match ended in a 1-1 draw. The varsity boys are back in action tomorrow when they travel to Bellevue to take on Marquette.  The teams honored their seniors between matches. Congratulations to Eli Rapp, Logan Dondiego, Lincoln Hinrichs, Brady Kurtz, Carson Vroegh, Josh Liles, Eric Harris, Antonio Guzman, and Scott Pasakarnis!

  • Last night the River King Track and Field JV team competed in the Camanche Invitational.  The Kings placed 3nd out of 8 teams and were led by: 1st Place:  Cole Shannon, 400m. 4x200 relay of Hunter Ball, Marshall Johnson, Julian Davis, Micah Tague. Jay Dodd, 110HH. Brecken Lemke, 400mLH. 2nd Place: 4x800 relay of Connor Roberts, Riley Engelkins, Reece Kramer, and Logan Spooner. Shuttle hurdle relay of Marshall Johnson, Brecken Lemke, Mayson MacAvoy, and Julian Davis. Jay Dodd, 100m. 3rd Place: 4x100 relay of Henry Bell, Hunter Ball, Nolan Marsh, and Julian Davis. 4th Place: Isiah Perez, 3200. Max Smith, 110HH. Hunter Ball, 200m. Mayson MacAvoy, 400LH.
