  • The River King soccer teams traveled to Bettendorf on Monday night to take on the Bulldogs. The JV boys started things off with a strong defensive performance. Antonio Guzman put in a great performance earning back possession numerous times and looking to transition the team forward. He was the JV team's Man of the Match for the game.  Varsity followed things up against the #9 team in the state. The Kings got out to a great start, playing stout defense and using the width to find opportunities to find teammates up field. Bettendorf turned up the pressure in the second half, and gave the Kings a 4-0 defeat. Zane Weaver was excellent in goal, tallying 21 saves. Chase Collender also put in a great performance covering a lot of ground to win the ball back on the last line of defense, and Chase was also selected as the varsity Man of the Match.
