If you still have library books out from last school year please get them returned ASAP. All these books have been marked lost. Get them returned so we can remove the fees.
FBLA will have its first meeting of the year on Thursday Morning, 8:00 AM. Please join us to kick off a great year of FBLA activities.
River Queen Tennis is carrying on that tradition of winning! You can still sign up, and join the team if you contact Coach Rasche at 563-249-3132. On Wednesday, at 3:45, we will honor our seniors at the tennis meet, at our own Max Lynn Tennis Courts. Come join the event. Tennis play begins at 4pm.
The River Queens took down the North Wildcats last night at the tennis courts in Davenport. Adding another win to their undefeated season. You can still be a part of this team even if you have not played before. Leave your cell number and name for coach Rasche in the athletic directors office if interested. Way to triumph Queens!!!
After two weeks of practice with a lot of adversity to deal with, the River Queen Swimmers were on the road against Tipton last night. The very strong Tipton team had a fast start, winning the first 4 events. But the Queens battled back, winning 4 out of the next 5, including a 1-2 finish in the 200 Free Relay. Ultimately, the depth of CHS helped pull out a close win 75-73. Taking home event wins on the night were Eloise Brisch (100 Fly), Mia Zimmer (100 Free), Nora Prosise (100 back) and the 200 Free Relay (Georgia Zirkelbach, Mena Albaghdadi, Jeanne Emmert and Lauren Whitney). The Queens are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Davenport Central for the Davenport Swim Invitational at 9 am.
Yesterday, the River Kings golf team traveled to Thunder Hills Country Club in Peosta to participate in a twelve team invitational hosted by Western Dubuque. The Kings finished with an 18-hole team score of 358, defeating Cedar Rapids Jefferson by 25 strokes. Scoring for the Kings were Brenner Swanson who shot 85, Mav Hensel with 89, Thomas Hays with 91, and Carter Thorpe with a 93. Also playing but not in the scoring for the Kings were Zane Weaver and Griffen Keefer. The Kings are back in action next week on Wednesday, September 2nd as they travel to Emeis Golf course in Davenport.
