Fall Play Auditions for Charlotte's Web will be held today from 4-6 PM and September 2nd from 6-8 PM in the Durgin Performing Arts Center. The River Queen swimmers were on the road last night at Bettendorf to take on a Bulldogs team that includes a number of the state's top swimmers. Despite being on the wrong side of a 125-50 score, there were a number of bright spots. CHS was led by Eloise Brisch, who captured 2 event wins in the 100 and 200 Freestyle. Turning in season best swims were Mena Albaghdadi, Georgia Zirkelbach, Lily Laurion and Norah Prosise. The JV Queens brought home the team victory 27-10 over the Bulldogs. They were led by wins from Brenna Weaver in the 100 Free and the 200 Free Relay of Norah Bradley, Adriana Galvan Flores, Bella Williams and Adalynn Elmore. The next meet for the team is the River Queen Invite hosted by Dubuque Hempstead on Saturday, 9/12.
Last night the River Queens traveled to Muscatine. Both the JV and Sophomore teams played really well together as a team. The JV won 2-1 and the sophomore teams swept the Muskies in dominant fashion 25-15, 25-14, 25-19. Great Job ladies. Come support the Sophomores as they host their tournament on Saturday in Yourd Gym.
The varsity Queens struggled to find any momentum as they dropped the match in straight sets 19-25, 22-25, 17-25. The Queens were paced by 15 assists from Grace Griswold and 9 kills from Maggie House. Tenley Cewe and Jayda Skiff played a great back row defensively as they dug up 12 and 11 digs, respectively. The varsity Queens have the weekend off before heading to Davenport North next Tuesday night.
