Upper Iowa University will be visiting the counseling office on Thursday September 10th at 10:30. If you would like to come visit and explore what they have to offer please reply only to Mr. Avise - Rouse and he will get you a pass for that day.
After-School Tutoring is being offered Monday-Thursday from 3:45 - 4:45 in the Library starting September 8th! There is no cost. We have staff in most of the core classes available! Please ask a CHS teacher or administrator if you would like to attend!

Students, staff, Administration, and Clinton residents are encouraged to purchase a homecoming shirt this year! The proceeds from the sale of Homecoming shirts are used to help fund this year's Prom. On Friday, September 11th, right after school, in Mr. Jensen's room, in the S-wing, there will be a memorial organized by the Clinton High Republicans to honor the victims of 9/11 and the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice fighting the terrorists behind this horrific event. We put our differences aside and unite as Americans. We discuss this tragedy in our meetings so we never forget the sacrifices made for our safety, protection, and civil liberties. By remembering, we stay strong, united, and true to who we are. At the end of the day, we are American!

Homecoming Court nomination forms have been emailed to all CHS classes. Each class will nominate students to represent their class on the 2026 Homecoming Court.

The varsity River Kings football team traveled to a balmy Brady Street Stadium Friday night to take on Davenport Central. The Kings jumped ahead early behind stellar defense and a pair of Ethan Carpenter touchdowns. The game entered halftime with Clinton clinging to a 12-7 lead. Jay Dodd added a punt return touchdown early in the second half, but Central stormed back tying the game at 20 at the end of regulation Central struck first in OT and went ahead 27-20, but Carpenter added a Td to make it 27-26. Clinton came up inches short on a 2pt attempt for the win and fell 27-26 in Overtime. Our boys fought hard and we are proud of them. This week the Kings welcome Cedar Rapid Washington to Coan Field. Go Kings!
Queens had another great week taking down Bettendorf's Varsity in girls tennis, and winning the JV Invite on Saturday. Way to continue that undefeated season Girls Tennis Team!!!
The River King Fresh/Soph football squad came away with the win last Friday night behind a dominating defensive performance. The Kings won 18-15. Scoring for the Kings was Vaun Jones with a kick return for a touchdown and Dorian Hill with a pick six and receiving touchdown delivered by Elijah Hardwick. The Kings play CR Washington this Friday at 5:00pm.
River Queens Sweep Wildcats in MAC Conference Play. The River Queens traveled to Davenport North last night to take on the Wildcats in MAC conference play. The sophomore team struggled to find its rhythm out of the gate, dropping all three sets. The JV Queens, however, showed tremendous resilience. After falling behind early in the opening set, the Queens battled back and launched a massive comeback, winning sets two and three in dramatic fashion. Great job, Queens!
The varsity Queens took the court for the third consecutive Tuesday on the road and in hostile territory. Fortunately, it felt more like a home match as the Clinton student section and fans showed up in a big way, creating an amazing and incredibly loud atmosphere! The Queens came out on fire, taking control early and winning the first two sets, 25-15 and 25-18. In the third set, the Wildcats refused to go away, and the Queens found themselves under tremendous pressure with the match going the distance. Clinton stayed composed and finished strong, sneaking out a 25-23 victory to complete the sweep! The Queens were led by a balanced offensive attack, with Grace Griswold and Maggie House leading the way with 8 kills apiece. Audry Gruhn paced the team with a .620 hitting percentage, the highest single-match percentage of the season! Alaina Carpenter and Grace Griswold directed the offense, recording 16 and 13 assists, respectively. Tenley Cewe once again anchored the back row with 15 digs and 4 aces, while Molly Steiner led the team with an impressive 2.25 passer rating. With the victory, the River Queens improve to 2-1 in MAC conference play. The Queens will be back in action Saturday in Waterloo at the Haley Eckerman / Eileen Beninga Volleyball Tournament.
