Sign up for the Homecoming Dance ends on Friday, September 18th. After you have signed up, stop in the library to make sure your response went through and to check on your requirements. If you are unsure about what fees you need to pay, ask in the library. If you are bringing a Date who doesn’t go to CHS you ALSO need to fill out and return an “Out of school date form” which is available in the library.
Homecoming is fast approaching which means the Royalty Rack is ready for visitors. If you are looking for something to wear to the dance, this is the place for you! We have a variety of homecoming dresses, shoes, collared shirts, and more. If you are interested in taking a look at what the Royalty Rack has to offer, please email Mrs. Leafgreen (christina.leafgreen@csdkq.org) to set up an appointment.
If you received an email about NHS, you are invited to apply. You will need to join the Google Classroom, pick up the application, and 3 teacher recommendations from Ms. Bradway or Mr. Camp. The application deadline is Oct 9 and you should not procrastinate in applying.
Students, if you receive a LUNCH STUDY TABLE PASS, this means that you will take your lunch to the second foyer by iJAG.
Want to be in the homecoming parade? We want you to be part of the student prepared class float. Anyone can come, and all are welcome! If you would like to be part of the float, please come to a short informational meeting this Thursday at 8 in Mr. Pataska's room. Students will have the ability to decorate a float with provided materials the night of the parade, or prior to the event. We hope to see you there! The River Queens swimmers traveled to North Scott last night to take on the Lancers. The Queens dominated both the Varsity and JV contest, winning every event of the night. The Varsity Queens took home the W with a score of 97-59, while the JV team won 29-0. Getting in on the wins for the night were Norah Bradley, Adalynn Elmore, Stephanie Rollins, Ava Schaefer, Nora Prosise, Georgia Zirkelbach, Eloise Brisch, Lauren Whitney, Mia Zimmer, Bella Williams, Lily Laurion and Grace Ewer. The Queens are back in action tomorrow night in Morrison.
Last night the River King and Queen Cross Country twelve team competed in the North Scott Invitational. The varsity Queens placed fourth and were led by medalists Cambyl Sattler 2nd, Alli Haskell 7th, and Scarlett Fergurson 14th. Alex Swan, Natalia Connolly, and Leila Waters rounded out the scoring for the Queens. The JV queens had good runs from Piper Jennings, Riley Reynolds, and Sophia Morley.
The varsity Kings placed 4th and were led by medalists CJ Estes 8th and Alonso Aguila 9th. Maddox Mojeiko, Connor Roberts, Cael Schwarz, and Carter Dunham also scored for the Kings. The JV Kings placed 5th behind strong runs from Miles Schneeberger, Mayson MacAvoy, Diego Donaire, Henry Bell, Chase Collender, Jonah Buelow, Alan Cruz, and Soren Bengtson.
Yesterday, the River Kings JV boys golf team traveled to Duck Creek Golf Course to take on Davenport Central in a dual meet. It was the first tournament action for some of the JV boys. Clinton lost to Central by a score of 176-208, but a lot of experience was gained. Scoring for the Kings were Griffen Keefer who led the Kings with a solid 42, Parker Nass shot 47, Rhys Speas shot 57, and Miles Zirkelbach rounded out the team scoring with a 62. Also playing for the Kings were Jonah Rogis, JJ Yahn, Keegan Price and Kallan Determan. The Varsity Kings are back in action today as they travel to Palmer Hills Golf Course for the Bettendorf Invite. That meet tees off at 1:00pm today.
