Students & Staff - If you park in the West parking lot (behind the home football stands), please have your vehicle moved by 4:00 PM on Thursday to make room for the homecoming parade lineup.
Game Club today 3:45-5:30 will be playing other games like Magic/Catan/Hero Quest or if you have a game you would like to bring and play.
The ok list is posted on the window outside of the library. If you are not on the list, check in the library. Tickets are on sale now until Thursday Sept 24th. You will need a school or state issued photo ID to get into the Dance.
Your school counseling office will be offering the PSAT on October 15th at the start of day at Clinton Administration Building. It costs $18. If that is a hardship please let your counselor know. Gear Up will be paying for the Sophomore class. If you are interested in taking the PSAT please email Mr. Avise-Rouse. Sign up ends October 6th. The PSAT is a great tool to practice for future college entrance exams, and you might qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
The River Queen swimmers ran into one of the top teams in the conference at Pleasant Valley last night, falling 133-38 to the Spartans. Top finishes for CHS came from Eloise Brisch - 2nd place (50 free, 100 fly), Nora Prosise - 2nd place (200 Individual medley, 100 breast), Mia Zimmer- 2nd place (200 free, 100 free). The Queens will host their first meet of the season when Davenport comes to CHS on Tuesday, 9/29.
Yesterday, the River King boys golf team traveled to Springbrook Country Club to participate in the Dewitt Invitational golf meet. The KIngs again shot their lowest score of the season, and lowest in several years, to claim 5th place out of 11 teams at the invite, defeating Bettendorf, Davenport Assumption, Davenport North, Central, West, and DeWitt JV! Leading the Kings was Mav Hensel who shot a season low 78, earning a 10th place overall medal for the effort! Also scoring their lowest round of the season was Carter Thorpe who shot an 84! Rounding out the day's scoring were Thomas Hays with 88 and Brenner Swanson with 89. The Kings are heating up at the right time. They return to action this Friday and Saturday in the MAC Conference meet at Midland Golf Course in Kewanee. Way to go low Kings!!!
