DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Monday Oct 5, 2026

I Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one Nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

  • There will be game Club Monday and Wednesday this week 3:45-5:15

  • Congratulations to the Royal River King and Queen Marching Band on two outstanding performances on Saturday. They faced some stiff competition and did very well. The marching band placed 4th at the Bands Across the Prairie Marching Invitational and 5th at the 5 Seasons Marching Festival. The Percussion section placed 2nd at both competitions. The Royal Regiment will compete again next weekend at the West Liberty and Muscatine Competitions.

  • The Clinton High Republicans are pleased to announce a unique civic engagement opportunity for our campus: U.S. Congresswoman, military veteran, and physician Mariannette Miller-Meeks will be visiting on Monday, October 12th at 4:00 PM. She will give a brief speech in the agriculture room followed by an extended, open Q&A session where students can directly ask questions about current events and national policy. All students and staff are highly encouraged to attend regardless of political beliefs. This is your choice to voice the issues that matter to you in a respectful, welcoming, and non-disruptive forum. We look forward to seeing you there!

  • After-School Tutoring is being offered Monday-Thursday from 3:45 - 4:45 in the Library! There is no cost.  We have staff in most of the core classes available! Please ask a CHS teacher or administrator if you would like to attend!

  • Your school counseling office will be offering the PSAT on October 15th at the start of day at Clinton Administration Building. It costs $18.  If that is a hardship please let your counselor know. Gear Up will be paying for the Sophomore class. If you are interested in taking the PSAT please email Mr. Avise-Rouse. Sign up ends October 6th. The PSAT is a great tool to practice for future college entrance exams, and you might qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program.

  • The Varsity River Kings traveled to Brady Street Stadium Thursday night to take on Davenport North. The Kings offense was firing on their first drive using nearly half of the 1st quarter before Ethan Carpenter punched in a touchdown. The Kings defense followed suit in the first half and the Kings led 14-7 at half behind 2 carpenter touchdowns. The offense struggled in the second half. Jay Dodd had an interception late in the game to give the Kings a chance but they ultimately fell 21-14 in a heartbreaker. Carpenter led the Kings with 125 yds and 2 touchdowns. The Kings travel to Eldridge this Friday to take on the Lancers. Thank you to everyone who sat through the rain to support us. Go Kings!

  • The tennis girls were 3 to 3 in after singles against Iowa City New Liberty in the regional championship tennis play on Saturday.  The Queens went down in a super tie breaker to be in the final 8 in the state.  An amazing great run this season as a team.  Your coaches thank you for your hard work and belief in your team.
