The boys soccer team travelled to Davenport to take on the West Falcons on Monday night. Varsity kicked things off with a thrilling match. The kings built several strong attacks and generated numerous chances. West capitalized on two quick counter attacks to take a 2-0 lead late into the game. With 3 minutes left, Lincoln Hinrichs found Josh Liles on a diagonal ball into the box and Josh headed home to put the kings back in it. Despite a few more opportunities in those last three minutes, the kings couldn't quite draw level, and lost 2-1. Logan Dondiego was selected as the team's Man of the Match, for his versatility in filling in wherever needed. He brought composure to the backline, then was dangerous on the attack. The JV kings took it to the Falcons, dominating possession and generating several scoring opportunities. Jaxon Spooner scored the only match of the night on a ball played into the box by Landan Lewis. For the game winning goal in the teams 1-0 victory, Jaxon was also the teams Man of the Match. The kings are back in action at home on Monday, 5/12 for senior night against Bettendorf.
