The River Kings competed in the District meet today at Emeis Golf Course in Davenport. The Kings shot 381 as a team and finished in 12th place in the 14 team meet. Also competing in the meet were sophomores Carter Thorpe and Maverick Hensel. The Kings finish their season with the most wins that we've had since the 2019-2020 season. Special thanks to seniors Scott Pasakarnis, Ray Brown, Cohen Thorpe, Dante Kelly and Levi Fransen for their roles this year in being great examples of putting in the work and showing what it means to be a River King. This year's team was a lot of fun to coach with the huge commitment that everyone put in. They were great at communication and high in energy. With a large number (75%) of our roster being sophomores and freshmen, it is our hope that River King Golf is on the rise and that we will see even more wins in the coming years from these boys! On Friday night, the River Kings Freshmen/Sophomore football team kicked off Homecoming night against the Davenport North Wildcats. The game was close with the Clinton defense hanging tough, going into the locker room at halftime trailing 0-7. Playing well in the first half was Jacoby Sampson who recorded a tackle for loss on a North 4th down and 1 to give possession to the Kings. In the 3rd quarter, Liam Petersen found Desean Mack for a 35yard pass, but Clinton trailed 0-14. Davenport North added a couple of more scores in the 4th quarter. Late in the game, Clinton was set up with great field position on a 65 yard kickoff return by Micah Tague! The Kings then finally found the end zone as Javin Bell ran the ball in from 19 yards out to score for Clinton, making the final score 32-6 in favor of North. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Kings for the events during Homecoming week! This Friday, the Kings are at home entertaining the Lancers from North Scott with the Sophs kicking off the action at 5:00pm on Coan Field. See you there! GO KINGS!!!
