Congratulations River King wrestlers on placing 7th in the 16 team Maquoketa Invitational. The Kings battled all day long and never quit. Sloan Weaver and Jakob Litherland placed 5th. Brody Harrington placed 2nd , and winning Championships were Danny Peters and Brady Jennings. Great job Kings! Have a fun and safe Winter break, a Happy Holiday, and a Great New Year. Today is Birthday cake for DECEMBER and JUNE. Come see us at lunch! The Clinton Public Library will be having a “Mustache Movie Night” on Friday December 27th from 4:30 to 7:00. Come hang out and watch a movie with a mustache themed minigame and a Popcorn Bar. After Winter Break we only have eight school days and three After School Tutoring opportunities before finals to get any missing work finished and turned in. Yesterday the CHS Bowling Teams had a conference meet against Bettendorf. All teams won their meets except for the Junior Varsity Boys. The varsity boys won 3148 to 2799. The varsity girls won 2794 to 2348. The JV boys lost a very close one 2259 to 2263. The JV girls won 2103 to 1160. Top scorers for Boys Varsity were: Charlie Pelham: 2 game series of 466, Blake Shepherd: 2 game series of 515. Top scorers for Girls Varsity were: Maren Schwarz: 2 game series of 388, Grace Hake: 2 game series of 416. Top scorers for boys JV were: Cutter Overton: 2 game series of 319, Ethan Davis: 2 game series of 355. Top scorers for girls JV were: Keira Palmer: 2 game series of 305, Laynie Steines: 2 game series of 368. Your River King swimmers traveled to Bettendorf last night to take on the Bulldogs. The Kings lost to the Bulldogs. The Kings were undermanned but still swam tough. The Kings did manage to take a 1, 2 finish in the 500 Free by Zimmer and Todtz. Other nice swims by Dornbush and Wright. The Kings host their annual Holiday Invitational tomorrow starting at 10am. Kings and Queens, we need your help with timers for the meet. Remember you can receive volunteer hours towards NHS and Graduation. Come cheer on the KINGS!! The River King wrestlers lost to a tough North Scott team last night 63-12. Danny Peters and Brady Jennings wrestled great and knocked off ranked wrestlers . Brody Harrington also wrestled well and won by a decision. Nolan Eggers won his JV match. The cost to play is $5.00 so if you think you got what it takes please see Mrs. Harris or Mrs Lemon-Levy in room S154 to get signed up. After-School Tutoring is being offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45 - 4:45 in the New Library! There is no cost. We have staff in most of the core classes available! The River Queens Basketball teams played some tough competition last night as they went to Pleasant Valley. The JV Queens ended up losing 56-26. Kassidy Eggers led the way with a great all-around game and our German exchange student Anna Moser also gave some great minutes! In the Varsity game, the Queens record fell to 3-3 as PV's size was too much for the Queens to handle as they fell 74-37. The Queens were led by Aubrey Fergurson with 15 points and 5 boards and Carryn Sattler with 13 points and 5 boards as well. Haskell added 4 rebounds. Another reminder that due to construction needs CHS will not have access to our cafeteria on Wednesday 12/18 after second chance breakfast. We are going to change our schedule and provide a Sack lunch to those kids who need it (serving out of a hallway). Please check your email from yesterday to see the schedule and sign-up for your sack lunch if you want one. Due to it being the day right before Winter Break, Friday will be pajama day. The River Queen Wrestlers traveled to Cedar Rapids Monday to compete in the Cedar Rapids Kennedy Invite. The Queens had 3 champions leading the way: Akemah McClendon, Alaina Carpenter and Cambrie McLoyd. Liv Lonergan placed 2nd, while Jharia Knox and Sophie Lippens fought hard for a 3rd place finish. Taking 4th Place was Brooklynn Morrow, Molly Steiner and Emma Rodriguez. Avery Balog, Aumree Russell and Ava Determan took 5th, while Dorianna Hill took 6th. It was a tough tournament and the entire team fought hard. Great job ladies! Catch the Queens back on the mat this Friday at Dewitt! Great work by the JV River King wrestlers last night at the Marion JV Invitational. The guys continue to get better each time they step on the mat. The Coaches are extremely proud of how hard they battle each time they toe the line. First place was Riley Engelkins. Placing second for the Kings were Alfonso Herrera, Nate Lundin, Chase Collender, Eric Harris, Cooper Cooley and Robert Carrol. Placing third was Alijah Russell, TJ Santana, Logan Spooner, Dante Kelly, Liam Petersen, Nolan Eggers, Maurice Mullins, Wyatt Graham, Zeke Zuidema, Jack Hoffman, Lucas Clark and Jadis Franklin. Placing fourth was Scott Pasakarnis, Riley Kupfer, Anthony Sayson, Jack George, Griffen Keefer, Hunter Ball, Zane Weaver, Landon Clark and Cormac Nichols. Great job guys! The River Queens traveled to Maquoketa on Friday to compete in the Zimmerman Invitational. The Queens put on a good performance and finished just a few points shy of 1st place. As a team they scored 208 points and finished in 2nd place! Lauren Whitney won the championship at 145lbs and finishing in 2nd place were Jaedyn Lemon, Akemah McClendon, Liv Lonergan and Cambrie McLoyd! Finishing in 3rd was Alaina Carpenter. Finishing in 4th was Harper Determan and Aumree Russell. 5th Place Molly Steiner, Sophia Costello and Sophie Lippens. Finishing in 6th place was Lila Keister, and Brianna Cuatlatl.
