Week 21
What a great day for Eagle Heights 5th grader Sawyer Dawes, as he was chosen to be the 2026 National Children’s Miracle Network Champion! This is an incredible honor given to a small number of children nationwide who represent courage, resilience, and hope for children receiving medical care. Sawyer and his classmates in Mrs. Zuidema's class were suprised with a pizza party while Sawyer was given a medal from Children's Miracle Network representatives. Be on the lookout for Sawyer's face in Walmart, Costco, and several other stores. Check out KWQC TV6 tonight to see Sawyer's interview!

Week 19

WHOA! Week 17?!?! That means we're nearly halfway through the year. WOW! We have a lot of fun planned this week. Please join us for holiday programs on Monday and Tuesday nights.

Monday:
5:30 TK & Kindergarten
6:30 2nd Grade
7:30 4th Grade

Tuesday:
5:30 1st Grade
6:30 3rd Grade
7:30 5th Grade

When the grade level programs conclude, students will be released to go back to their classrooms. We ask that audience members wait in their seats in the gym. You will be released to pick up your student when all students have made it to their rooms. This procedure helps keep all students safe and accounted for!

We are so excited for you to see how hard your students have worked! To ensure we have the best performances possible, we ask the following of our audience members:

Remain seated during performances. Please avoid standing in aisles or walking around while students are performing.

Silence phones and devices before the program starts.

No flash photography.

Save applause until the end of each song or performance.

Support all performers. Every child worked hard—please show encouragement to all students.

Exit quietly if needed.

We hope all had a great break! Now that cold and flu season is upon us, please encourage your students to do extra handwashing. We will be doing some extra cleaning and sanitizing over the next few weeks. Our attendance dropped significantly right before break and we are hoping for a positive shift in the next few weeks. There will still be days students go outdoors for recess - we need that fresh air! If your student needs outdoor clothing, please email Counselor Stephanie Boeding at stephanie.boeding@csdkq.org. If you would like to nominate a staff member for Staff of the Week, please use the following link or email Principal Sarah Erwin at sarah.erwin@csdkq.org. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfEhNvP72SjwNY6G90JbiNL1fjCEsVUtxErDLDQSWgXr4T0tg/viewform

Coming up this week:

Tuesday 14th - PTA meeting 3:00

Wednesday 15th - Storm drill - the alarm will go off for 45 seconds - please talk to your students and remind them this is practice!

Thursday 16th - Kindergarten field trip - please connect with your kindergartener's teacher for details

Friday 17th - BINGO NIGHT! 5:30-7:30 Popcorn pick up will be at bingo.

Have your 2nd or 4th graders talked about their extra recess and popsicles with the Principal? We started an attendance challenge three weeks ago. Whatever grade level has the highest attendance percentage in a week gets an extra recess and popsicles with Principal Erwin. Second grade has hit 99% TWICE! Fourth grade hit nearly 99% once. Our district goal is to have all students and staff at 95% attendance.

If your student is sick or going to be out for another reason, please call us! We worry when the kids are gone!

If you're having trouble getting your student to school, let Principal Erwin know. I want to help!

Have a great weekend Eagle Heights families!

Eagle Heights
Eagle Heights Caregivers,

We will be placing our order for winter coats through the Coats for Kids program this Friday, October 10th. If you need help purchasing a coat for your student this year, please send an email with student(s) name and size to Mrs. Boeding at stephanie.boeding@csdkq.org before 3pm on Friday. If you are unsure of size, we would suggest sizing up because these coats tend to run small. Due to uncertainty about availability of coats this year, this is short notice. Please help us out by sharing this with other Eagle Heights families who may need this resource. Thank you!
