River Kings Tennis traveled to Davenport Assumption Thursday to claim their 4th team win of the season! Final score was 7-2. Singles winners included #1 Jacob Feddersen (6-1, 6-4), #2 Tanner Feddersen (6-3, 7-5), #3 Nate Frye (6-3, 6-4), #4 Lucas Hilgendorf (6-0, 6-3) & #6 Vinnie Srp (7-5, 7-6 TB 7-0). Doubles winners included #1 Feddersen Bros (8-6, 6-3) and #3 Hilgendorf & Srp (6-4, 6-1). Despite the windy conditions, the Kings battled hard from start to finish. Phenomenal work Kings! The kings soccer team traveled to Epworth to take on Western Dubuque on Friday night. The jv boys fought hard and had several good chances to score, but one unfortunate mistake led to the 1-0 defeat on the night. The varsity kings struggled to get going against the physical and intense Bobcat team. Three early mistakes lead to an early deficit that they struggled to fight back from. Sam Hoffman was a bright spot for the kings on the day. Sam brought some much needed intensity to the team, and has immediately stepped in as a vocal leader. He won several headers and prevented multiple attacks from progressing into the defensive third. For all of these reasons, Sam was selected as the team's Man of the Match. The River Queen Track and Field team traveled to Tipton Iowa on Thursday night. The Queens had to fight some very powerful wind on the front stretch to come away with 2nd place out of 11 teams. Placing for the Queens were the following: Aubrey Fergurson 4th place Discus and 3rd place Shot Put. Zoey Seitz 2nd place Shot Put and a new PR. Joselyn Petersen 4th place Long Jump. Elle Lonergan 1st place High Jump. Lauren Whitney 8th place High Jump. Sprint Medley Team of Jensen, Russell, Skiff, Glover 7th place. The Coaching staff is proud of you. The queens are back in action on Tuesday at Fulton. This week also Elle Lonergan will be Jumping at the Drake Relays on Friday morning at 11am in the HIgh Jump. If you see Elle in the hall make sure you tell her congrats on making it to Drake. She will be competing with some of the best jumpers in all of Iowa. Elle is one of the top jumpers in the State and the coaching staff is proud of all the hard work and dedication she has put into getting to this point. We can't wait to see her jump on Friday morning.

Once you sign up, If your date doesn’t go to CHS, you need to fill out an Out of School Date form for them. The form needs to be signed by their High School Principal so don’t wait till the day before they are due to grab one. They are due to the library by April 25th. Clinton River Queens took on North Scott Lancers at the River Cities Indoor Tennis and Pickleball Courts on Tuesday night. For singles matches, Elizabeth Grinnall was the first off the court in a decisive victory of 6-1, 6-0. Katie Atkinson was off next, with a 6-0 6-4 match, Josie Srp bringing in a double bagel 6-0, 6-0, then Lou Gonzalez won 6-1, 6-2. This group did the same in doubles. Haan and Rowden lost in super tiebreakers by 2 points. Each match was very tight. Good win Queens! Last night, the River Queens soccer team hosted the Lancers from North Scott in a MAC Conference battle on Coan Field. The Lancers lived up to their billing as one of the top teams in the state in class 2A, beating the Queens in dominating fashion in both the Varsity and JV matches. The Queens return to action tonight as they travel to Davenport to take on the Assumption Knights. Thank you to our supporters who came out last night to cheer on the River Queens!! Last night the River King Track and Field team competed in the Gateway Classic. The varsity Kings competed hard and finished fifth out of ten teams. Placing high for the varsity squad were: 2nd Place: Jordan Coleman, 400 meter dash. 4x400 meter relay of Currin, Krogmann, Lorion, and Shannon. Marshall Johnson, High Jump. 3rd Place: Sprint Medley Relay of Currin, Abbott-Lutton, Schroeder, and Krogmann. Khaos Struve did an amazing job in her events. Khaos placed First in the 100 Meter Dash. She also placed 2nd in the softball throw. Congratulations Khaos. Coach Dodd and Bradley are very proud of you. Correction to yesterday's announcements from the music department - Eloise Brisch earned a Division I rating, and Elena Brisch earned a Division I rating as well as the best-in-center award. Elena will perform again at the IHSMA Outstanding Performance Showcase at Iowa State University in May. The River Queen golfers went to Glynn’s Creek yesterday for a 9 hole meet. The Queens took 2nd place in the triangular losing to North Scott but beat Davenport North. Bryleigh Shepherd was team medalist with a 55. Also scoring were Olivia Veenstra, Whitney Naughton, and Olivia Parker. The Queens team score of 236 was the lowest team score in two years. Keep improving Queens!
