Adults are $10. Students and seniors are $5. Or come see our matinee on March 8th at 2:00 PM and pay just $5 per person!
The River Queen basketball team played in the substate final last night for the chance to make it to the State tournament. The Queens outscored CCA 46-45 for three of the four quarters, it was the 1st quarter that proved to be the difference. The Queens battled the whole game but could not overcome the big lead that CCA started with and eventually lost 72-56. Leading the Queens was Aubrey Fergurson with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Alli Haskell added 14 points and 7 assists. Carryn Sattler had 8 points and 6 rebounds while managing to guard one of the best players in the state. Mady MacAvoy added 10 points and Lilly Haskell added 7. The coaches would like to thank those that traveled to CCA last night to support them. The fans were great this season and were a big part of the Queen's success. Also a huge shout out to the Seniors that helped turn the program around and model great sportsmanship, commitment, and leadership to the younger girls. Thank you Carryn Sattler, Aubrey Fergurson, Olivia Schneeberger, Anijah Williams, Haylee House, and Madi Rowden. Your contributions were critical for our team's success. Best of luck to all the girls who continue on in their spring sports. Keep the success going!

Last night the River Kings Basketball team saw their season come to a close last night against Davenport Central 59-67. The River Kings played hard but some big shots by Davenport Central separated the game late. The Kings became battle tested as the season went on, and took strong strides towards competing with some of the best competition in the state of Iowa. The River King Basketball program would like to thank our Seniors Marshall Johnson and Konnor Schroeder for dedicating 4 years of their high school career to our program. Their leadership, work ethic, and dedication to the team is something we hope the rest of the program will take with them. Go Kings!

The River Queens have advanced to the Substate Final for the first time since 1998 for a chance to go to the State Tournament tomorrow night by beating the North Scott Lancers on Saturday night! Playing without leading scorer Jhaliana Guy, the Queens fought fiercely the whole game and ended up winning on a basket by Carryn Sattler with 6 (or 7) seconds left to give them a 51-49 victory. Lots of girls stepped up in the game on both ends of the court to earn the chance to advance. Scoring for the Queens were Fergurson with 15, Hankins 9, Sattler 8, MacAvoy 7, and Haskell 6. Fergurson and Hankins both added 10 boards while Haskell added 5 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocks. The Queens play tomorrow night at Clear Creek Amana with the winner going to the State Tournament. The crowd was amazing and SO LOUD on Saturday. The team hopes the crowd can show up and support one more time tomorrow!
Congratulations River King State wrestlers Brody Harrington, Danny Peters and Damarius Robinson on an outstanding week representing Clinton High School at the state wrestling meet in DesMoines. Brody was one match away from earning a medal, losing a heartbreaker in overtime. Damarius wrestled outstanding as well but just came up short losing out on his chance to become a state medalist as well. Danny Peters wrestled great on the week and made it all the way to the semi finals, ending his season placing 6th place in a loaded weight class. This is our first state medalist since 2020. We are proud of our wrestlers, great job!

It was an exciting night from start to finish for the River King boys last night at Davenport Central. The Freshman opened up handling the pressure from Central, up 10 at the half. The Kings extended their lead to 14 at one point in the game. A late surge was held off by the Kings as they were able to close off their season with a win, 37-35. The Sophomore Kings continued the night of exciting basketball in a back and forth battle. Down 1 at the half, the Kings ramped up the pressure in the third quarter, taking a 2 point lead into the 4th. A transition bucket by Central notched the game at 43, sending it to overtime. The Kings scored the first basket of overtime, but ended up losing by a score of 50-53. The Varsity team went into a hostile environment on Central's Senior night. Down 10-2 early, the Kings were able to weather the storm. In a back and forth 32 minute battle, a last second putback by Cooper Belitz lifted the Kings into a classic victory.
The River Kings Varsity team travels back to Davenport Central Monday night for their first round substate game. Please come support the Kings on the road as they head into what will be a great high school basketball environment. There is strength in numbers! GO KINGS!

Tuesday: Graphic Tees & Sneakers. 3rd round of Girl’s Basketball Regionals
Wednesday: Aquatic v. Patriotic. Day 1 of Conferences
Thursday: Senior Citizen Day. Pickleball Tournament at 6:30pm in Yourd (Bring your own paddles)
Friday: Class shirt/Class colors Day. Pep Assembly at the end of the day!

After-School Tutoring is being offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 - 4:45 in the New Library! There is no cost. We have staff in most of the core classes available! Please ask a CHS teacher or administrator if you would like to attend!

Make sure you remember to bring your computers and chargers to school EVERYDAY. The library has a limited number of computers and chargers to loan out. If you have a loaner charger it needs to be returned ASAP.

Last night the River Kings traveled to Davenport North to take on the Wildcats. The Freshman ran the floor hard and played great team basketball. But a late surge by the Wildcats was enough to outlast the Kings 40-45. The sophomores were in a physical battle, where points were hard to come by. The Kings had a shot to win it at the end, and had a good look but could not close the game with a score of 48-49. The Varsity team was in a track meet, with a fast paced game, the Kings were down 5 at half. A run by the Wildcats separated the points gap, but the Kings rallied to cut it to 10. The Kings could not close the gap and fell by a score of 60-76. The Kings close out the regular season at Davenport Central Thursday night before Districts next week.
