If you have a friend who is online, at EAC, or graduated early let them know sign-up has started. The River Queen Track and Field hosted senior night at the River King and Queen Complex last night. The Queens had a great night all around placing 3rd out of 15 teams. There were several PRs and great times last night. Placing for the Queens are the following. Aubrey Fergurson 6th place Discus. The Coaching Staff is proud of all of you and want to thank everyone that came out and supported the Queens tonight. The Queens are back at it Thursday at the Jesse Day relays. River Kings Tennis hosted the Davenport Central Blue Devils on Tuesday. Lucas Hilgendorf got the Kings on the scoreboard first with a decisive 6-0, 6-0 singles match! Ed Weiner prevailed in similar fashion, finishing next with a 6-1, 6-0 win! Nate Frye was triumphant as well, winning 6-4, 6-2! Jacob Feddersen shook off a slow start taking his opponent the distance and scraping his way to victory 2-6, 6-1, TB 10-4! The double teams (Feddersen Bros, Nitschke & Hilgendorf, Frye & Weiner) put the pedal to the metal and cruised for 3 more match wins! Final score 7-2. Great work team! Last night the River Queens soccer team hosted Muscatine High School in the Queens home opener. The Muskies proved that they are one of the top teams in the MAC Conference this season, defeating the Queens by a score of 10-0. Continuing her work in goal for the Queens was Livia Watters with 13 saves. Picking up some reps in varsity action was Brooklyn Cooley who recorded 2 saves. The JV Queens lost their match 3-0. Cooley had 6 saves in the JV game. The Queens are back in action tomorrow as they host Geneseo here at CHS. The Varsity squad kicks off the action at 5:00pm. Come out and cheer on the QUEENS!! At the River Queen tennis match Haan, Rowden, Grinnall, Gonzalez, Srp, Atkinson all won singles and doubles against Davenport Central at the varsity level. The junior varsity tennis team also brought in many wins, 9-1 overall win. Lunch for Today Sack Lunch

CHS International Club will have its meeting today after school in Mrs. Krueger's room. We will finalize the itinerary for our Chicago trip in May. Excellence in Academic awards are coming up on April 25th. Please check your email for a form from Miss Melvin and respond if you will be in attendance or not. You have until April 20th to RSVP to this event. The Discovery Shop in Bettendorf has had 400 prom dresses donated to them. They are selling their dresses for $25.00 and the actual value of the dresses is from $200.00-$500.00. All of the proceeds of these dresses goes to the American Cancer Society. The form was sent to your school email by Ms. North. Make sure you check on your requirements in the library after you sign up and make sure your response went through. Sign-up ends on April 25 @ 3:45 After-School Tutoring is being offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 - 4:45 in the New Library! There is no cost. We have staff in most of the core classes available! Please ask a CHS teacher or administrator if you would like to attend! Great way to get grades up for Prom. The kings soccer team took on Davenport Central on Monday night. The jv kings kicked things off and fought hard to keep the game close. The boys generated a few great opportunities, but ultimately came away on the losing end. The varsity boys also took a tough loss against a strong Davenport team. The kings struggled to generate much offensively, but kept organized in the back to keep things close for most of the game. Chase Collender was selected as Man of the Match for both jv and varsity! Chase was strong in defense, fighting off several attacks that came down his side of the field. He also showed discipline to hold possession and advance the attack. The kings travel to Muscatine on Thursday to take on the Muskies. Joke of the day Why do people paint Easter eggs? …It’s easier than trying to wallpaper them. Today the wall in the commons is getting repaired and for safety the kitchen & cafeteria are closed due to proximity (No lunch). We will have some grab and go options for students who need it. There will be some space available for students to eat, but eating off campus lunch today would be helpful. There will be food trucks on the east side of the building outside of door B4 in the bus lane from 11-1pm today (Mick’s Fun Foods, & The Boars Nest) for students to purchase lunch from if they want. You will need to eat outside if you purchase from the food trucks. Boar’s Nest menu: Pulled pork nachos $12, Tenderloin meal $12, Hotdog meal $9 Cheeseburger meal $10 Attention Juniors!
