It now was all tied at 4 wins to 4 wins, and it was up to Bengtson and Manikowski at #3 doubles to send us all to state!!! They won their last two games of a thriller match and allowed us all to celebrate! Thank you girls for a fantastic day at the tennis courts!

Congratulations to the Royal River King and Queen Marching Band on finishing 5th at both the Linn Mar and Marion competitions on Saturday. The band had two really great performances and was very close in score to all of the 4A bands. The percussion section placed 2nd at the Marion competition in the evening. Way to go drumline and pit!

After ending Day 1 of the MAC Conference golf meet in 7th place by just 1 stroke, the River Kings looked poised to finish higher than they have in the last 6 years. Strong team play paced the Kings with 2 scores in the 80s and two scores in the 90s. The 2nd day proved to be a little tougher on the Kings as they were a little off their scores from the first day and dropped to 9th place out of all MAC teams. Maverick Hensel paced the Kings both days with scores of 83 and 85 and finished 27th overall. Scott Pasakarnis also played well Day 1 with a score of 84 but could not reproduce a score in the 80s Day 2. Also playing for the Kings were Carter and Cohen Thorpe, Ray Brown, and Thomas Hays. The JV Kings take on the MAC Conference today (Monday) at Valley Oaks to see what the Kings have to look forward to in the future from the younger guys!

On Friday night, the River Kings traveled to Burlington to battle the Greyhounds on the gridiron at iconic Bracewell Stadium. The Sophomore Kings had a super first half of football, leading 35-0 at halftime. The hounds came out and fought hard in the second half, battling their way back but were outlasted by the Kings! The Kings won 35-26 improving their record to 4-1 on the season! Micah Tague opened the scoring collecting a 6 yard TD pass from Liam Petersen. The Kings defense got a big stop on 4th down and were ahead 7-0 at the end of the 1st quarter. The second quarter flood gates opened for Clinton. Petersen ran in from one yard out for a score. Noah Fergurson blocked a Burlington punt, giving the Kings great field position. Julian Davis then ran the ball in from 20 yards out for another score. Roger Schumacher recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff which led to a 22 yard TD pass to Hunter Sink. Petersen then added a 4 yard run for a score to complete the first half. Burlington rallied for a great comeback, taking advantage of several Clinton mistakes. But, the Kings held on for the WIN! Come out to watch the River Kings this Friday as Clinton hosts Davenport North for Homecoming. The action kicks off at 5:00pm. GO KINGS!!!

The varsity River Kings football team made the long bus ride to Burlington on Friday night to take on the 3-1 greyhounds. It was a physical defensive battle from the beginning with the Kings leading 8-7 at halftime behind a Jay Dodd 6 yard touchdown run. The game remained close into the fourth quarter as the Kings trailed 10-8 with 1 quarter to go. Despite a blocked extra point by Hayden Chandler to give the Kings a chance, they ultimately fell 23-6. The coaching staff was extremely proud of the fight and effort our boys displayed on Friday night. Come join us Friday night for our homecoming matchup against the 3-2 Davenport North Wildcats. Go Kings!!
