Come out Friday to see the Kings in action as they host Davenport Central in the Kings home opener. The Sophomore River Kings kick off at 5:00pm. GO KINGS!!!

The Freshman volleyball teams opened up their season on Monday at Bettendorf. The River Queens have two freshman teams and played very well down at Bettendorf. The Clinton Red team finished 1-1, winning 26-24, 25-21 and losing 18-25, 15-25 in the second match. The Clinton Black team swept the Bulldogs, winning the first match 25-23, 25-21 and 26-24, 25-17 in the second match. Congrats ladies. The Sophomore Queens opened up on Tuesday and lost a very close 5-set match versus North Scott. The Queens battled very well before dropping the 5-set thriller 25-16, 16-25, 10-25, 26-24, 7-15. The JV Queens won the first set, lost the second set and had a great, resounding win during the third set. The coaching staff is very proud of the JV resilience and fight in the three set victory versus North Scott. The varsity came out with fire and passion against #4 North Scott on Tuesday night. The CROWD was amazing and the student section was FIRE! Thank you to all the students who supported us and made it a GREAT environment. We return home next Tuesday against Davenport North! Joselyn Petersen was the attacker that couldn't be stopped Tuesday night, in fact she recorded 15 kills and that led all players in the MAC for the 2nd most kills in the MAC! Haley Thomas led the scrappy defensive line with 11 total digs. Alaina Carpenter had 10 assists which led the team. The River Queens played well, but didn't end up winning the match. They return to play Saturday at the Maquoketa tournament.

The varsity River Queens Volleyball team traveled down to St. Ambrose to compete in the MAC vs MVC Crossover. The Queens got off to a slow start, never finding enough momentum to keep it competitive versus #13 Dubuque Senior. But the Queens played really well in match 2 vs Western Dubuque and Match 3 vs Dubuque Hempstead. The Queens took both of those matches to 3 sets before eventually falling 13-15, and 11-15 in the 3rd set. The Queens travel to the Maquoketa tournament on Saturday.
