Recently Brooklyn Grams competed at the National FBLA Leadership Conference in Atlanta Georgia, representing Clinton High School, and the State of Iowa. The Future Business Leaders of America conference brought together more than 13,000 students from forty-eight states and territories to the Georgia World Congress Center.
The National Leadership Conference is the culmination of students' hard work over the previous academic year and an opportunity to highlight the skills and knowledge gained in the classroom and apply these skills in real world scenarios and case studies.
Brooklyn competed in Social Media Strategies. For her competition she created a presentation illustrating how social media strategies could aid in helping those in need with food and how food banks could use the social media strategies to aid in the collection of needed supplies. Brooklyn competed at the district level in Cedar Rapids and placed 2nd, which allowed her the opportunity to compete at the state level. She made modifications and altered her performance well enough to qualify for the National Competition!
When asked what her favorite memory from the conference was, she answered "My best memory from Nationals was getting to meet and network with hundreds and thousands of individuals throughout the world."
She explained she learned, "The importance of real world skills and putting those skills to the test in front of judges."
When asked her how her experiences would impact her college life and career, she explained, "FBLA will positively impact me throughout college and my career as it sets the tone for how the future will be. I am able to speak with confidence, effectively answer questions, and build my personal skills."
To learn more about FBLA and all the opportunities at CHS Brooklyn stated, "As the FBLA President at CHS I will do my absolute best to get as many students involved with the organization. I will have a school wide presentation at the beginning of the year to share my personal experiences and to share the endless opportunities you can have throughout your high school career. My goal is to make FBLA a major factor in all students' lives , not only to gain experience, but to set all individuals up for success."
