It was a beautiful, sunny day for the River Queen golfers as they competed in the 10 team Falcon Invitational yesterday taking 6th place. Whitney Naughton was team medalist with a 111, her career low 18 hole round. Olivia Veenstra shot 114, Bryleigh Shepherd 116 (also a career low), and Olivia Parker 120, to round out the scoring for the Queens. Natalee Faur tied her career low and A'Reyae Jetter in her first 18 hole meet ever also participated for the Queens. The team score yesterday for the Queens was also the lowest in the last 3 three seasons. Lots of improvement in the young team which has no seniors. The Queens are in action again tomorrow at Glynn's Creek. River Kings Tennis went on the road to take on the Bettendorf Bulldogs Tuesday. Halfway through the match, rain forced us to suspend play until the following day. Already in a 0-2 deficit, the Kings came close to splitting the remaining singles matches but secured only 1 win in the end by #2 Tanner Feddersen (6-4, 6-1). In doubles, the Feddersen Bros picked up another big win at #1 (6-1, 7-6 TB 8-6). Final match score was 2-7, but Kings played much better than what the score reflected. Go Kings!
