There will be a boys volleyball meeting on Friday, Sept 12th during Flex #2 from 11:10-11:50am in Coach Cewe's classroom (A212). If you are interested in playing on Sunday's this fall, please be sure to attend.
The kitchen is offering a "lunchable" option. grab and go... you may get a fruit, milk, and veggie with it. These will be located at the Deli line. This is a trial run.

The Homecoming Dance is on Oct 4th. Sign up (via a google form) will be starting on Friday Sept. 12th @ 1:45. All CHS/EAC students who wish to go must sign-up themselves. Make sure you are talking to all your friends about getting signed up. If you are bringing a Date who doesn’t go to CHS you ALSO need to fill out and return an “Out of school date form” which is already available in the library.
The JV boys golf team defeated Davenport West in a dual last night 195-229 and is still undefeated. Dalton Kohl had the overall best score and earned team medalist with a 44. Also scoring for the Kings were Parker Nass, Blake Pessman, and Levi Fransen. Also playing for the Kings were Chaz Zirkelbach and Dante Kelly. The JV Kings play again tomorrow at Emeis Golf Course in Davenport.
Queens started out on the most beautiful day for tennis. They just got better and better as the day went on. Great match play by our number one doubles team. Clinton #1 doubles were victorious as the team of Rowden and Cewe triumphed over Jepson(who placed third at state last year in singles)/Samora of North Scott. Josie Srp pulled out a 14-12 tiebreaker after being down 7 -9 at 5 singles. Great mental fortitude by Josie Srp! Maddie Rowden had a great comeback and won at 3 singles. Tenley Cewe played great singles and doubles all day! Love those freshmen! Srp and Grinnall are in the finals, too, boot at #2 doubles! Queens are in first place going into finals matches tomorrow! Wish them luck!!! I am so blessed to have great kids on the tennis team, and to also have the support of Coach Cewe and Espe. Coach Raschd loves seeing that 42 years of success every year. Go Queens!

The Freshman Queens volleyball team continued their hot streak as both teams swept both Davenport North and Davenport West. Clinton Black defeated North 25-19, 25-13 before sweeping West 25-15, 25-12. Clinton Red caught fire defeating West 25-14, 25-3 before conquering North in the night cap 25-7, 25-14. Great job Freshman Queens as they improve their overall team record to 11 wins and 1 loss.
The River Queen Swimmers traveled to Muscatine last night to take on the Muskies. Despite swimming well, the Queens fell short in a close meet. Leading the way for CHS were team captains, Eloise Brisch and Lahna Schroeder, who each had 2 individual event wins as well as 1 relay victory. Joining them in the relay win was Grace Ewer and Mia Wright. Other swimmers that had season best swims were Stella Jackson, Brenna Weaver and Adalynn Elmore. The team is back in action on Saturday, hosting the River Queen Invitational here at CHS starting at 9 am.
The River Queens traveled to Bettendorf last night in a MAC showdown. All three levels were defeated in straight sets. The Sophomore Queens kept it interesting as they held leads in sets 2 and 3, but just couldn't finish late in the sets. The varsity Queens struggled all night on many unforced attacking errors, but they kept battling to the end. Harlow Miller led the offense with 3 kills while being one of two attackers on the night with a positive .500 attacking percentage. Miller also assisted on 3 blocks. Alaina Carpenter finished with 9 assists for the Queens offense. Haley Thomas once again led the Queens defense with 7 digs, followed by Joselyn Petersen and Tenley Cewe's 6 digs, respectively. Maddie Rowden and Cewe passed a match high .1.92 rate in serve receive. The Queens will move on and compete at the Cal Wheat tournament on Saturday, where they are matched up with Northeast and Camanche in pool play. Match starts at 9:00am.

The Kings were at home yesterday for the River King Invitational at Valley Oaks Golf Course. The Kings tied for 6th out of 8 teams. Scoring for the Kings were Scott Pasakarnis (88), Cohen Thorpe (91), Thomas Hays (93), and Maverick Hensel (94). Also playing for the Kings were Ray Brown and Carter Thorpe. The Kings have a couple JV meets this week and the Varsity Kings play next Wednesday at the Bulldog Invitational at Palmer Hills Golf Course.
Queens took down the Bettendorf Bulldogs on the tennis courts last night! Grinnall, Cewe, Bengtson, Srp brought in wins in singles, then marched on to sweep all the doubles!!! With Rowden and Cewe at #1, Grinnall and Srp at #2 and Bengtson and Manikowski at #3 Doubles. Mac Conference is Wednesday and Thursday so wish them all good luck. Congrats on an undefeated season so far this year!!!

The Clinton JV Boys team played at Red Hawk Golf Course in Davenport on Thursday and came out victorious in a duel against Davenport Central 199-180. Team medalist was freshman Brenner Vance with a 42. Also scoring for the Kings were sophomore Griffen Keefer (43), sophomore Tanner Feddersen (46), and freshman Maddox Mojeiko (47). Also playing for the Kings were sophomore Dalton Kohl and freshman Parker Nass. The JV Kings are back at Red Hawk next Tuesday.
The varsity Kings football team welcomed the Davenport Central Blue Devils to Coan Field for their home opener Friday night. After falling behind early, the kings rattled off four unanswered touchdowns and defeated Central 26-13. The offensive line leaned on the Blue Devils and racked up over 300 rushing yards by night's end, including 142 yards for Ethan Carpenter. Touchdown scorers included two for Carpenter and a touchdown apiece for Konnor Schroeder and Maddux Cooley. The defense also showed out forcing 4 turnovers, including an interception by Jay Dodd. Thank you to everyone who showed up to support our young men. The Kings travel to Cedar Rapids on Thursday to take on Cedar Rapids Washington. Go kings.
The River Queen Volleyball Sophomores hosted a home tournament in Yourd Gym this past weekend. The girls ended up winning the Silver Bracket (5th place) with 3 wins and 2 losses. Audry Gruhn led the Queens with 20 total kills, as Kiara Krueger had 19 kills and hit an astounding .450%. Alaina Carpenter led the Queens offense with 38 assists on the day, followed by 14 aces. Bry Samuels led the defense with 22 total digs. Great job Sophomore Queens! The freshman play home tonight at 6:00pm and the varsity, jv and sophomores play at Bettendorf tomorrow with a 5:00pm start.
On Friday night, the Sophomore River Kings opened the first home game of the season versus the Blue Devils from Davenport Central. The Kings scored a decisive WIN shutting out Davenport Central by a score of 37-0! The Kings were led by an 83 yard kickoff return for a score by Micah Tague! The Homecoming Dance is on Oct 4th. Sign up (via a google form) will be starting on Sept. 12th @ 1:45. All CHS students who wish to go must sign-up themselves. The requirements to go are: passing grades, less than two unexcused absences or 10 tardies, and fees paid. Must have two out of those three good to go. If you are bringing a Date who doesn’t go to CHS you ALSO need to fill out and return an “Out of school date form” which is already available in the library.
The Clinton JV Boys team played at Red Hawk Golf Course in Davenport on Thursday and came out victorious in a duel against Davenport Central 199-180. Team medalist was freshman Brenner Vance with a 42. Also scoring for the Kings were sophomore Griffen Keefer (43), sophomore Tanner Feddersen (46), and freshman Maddox Mojeiko (47). Also playing for the Kings were sophomore Dalton Kohl and freshman Parker Nass. The JV Kings are back at Red Hawk next Tuesday.
The varsity Kings football team welcomed the Davenport Central Blue Devils to Coan Field for their home opener Friday night. After falling behind early, the kings rattled off four unanswered touchdowns and defeated Central 26-13. The offensive line leaned on the Blue Devils and racked up over 300 rushing yards by night's end, including 142 yards for Ethan Carpenter. Touchdown scorers included two for Carpenter and a touchdown apiece for Konnor Schroeder and Maddux Cooley. The defense also showed out forcing 4 turnovers, including an interception by Jay Dodd. Thank you to everyone who showed up to support our young men. The Kings travel to Cedar Rapids on Thursday to take on Cedar Rapids Washington. Go kings.
The River Queen Volleyball Sophomores hosted a home tournament in Yourd Gym this past weekend. The girls ended up winning the Silver Bracket (5th place) with 3 wins and 2 losses. Audry Gruhn led the Queens with 20 total kills, as Kiara Krueger had 19 kills and hit an astounding .450%. Alaina Carpenter led the Queens offense with 38 assists on the day, followed by 14 aces. Bry Samuels led the defense with 22 total digs. Great job Sophomore Queens! The freshman play home tonight at 6:00pm and the varsity, jv and sophomores play at Bettendorf tomorrow with a 5:00pm start.
On Friday night, the Sophomore River Kings opened the first home game of the season versus the Blue Devils from Davenport Central. The Kings scored a decisive WIN shutting out Davenport Central by a score of 37-0! The Kings were led by an 83 yard kickoff return for a score by Micah Tague! The River Kings were at the Assumption Invitational on Wednesday at Emeis Golf Course. The Kings played well as a team and tied for 8th place (losing in the tiebreaker) in the 12 team tournament. Scoring for the Kings were Carter Thorpe (87), Thomas Hays (88), Cohen Thorpe (90), and Ray Brown (92). The Kings will host the River King Invitational next Monday at Valley Oaks Golf Course.
