CMS has an amazing PTSA! Check out the "Survival Kits" they provided staff for the first week back... You all are appreciated!

CMS students are invited to support the River Kings at the home game Friday night! Here are some ground rules for middle schoolers:
- Students must be part of the student section or sit with their adult caregiver.
- To be part of the student section, students must pre-purchase a wristband (our new tickets) at CMS. Activity passes will also be accepted at CMS for a wristband.
- Wristbands can be purchased in the Back Office during lunch on game day or the day before. Wristbands will be put on immediately by office staff. Removed, cut, or broken wristbands will not be honored.
- Wristbands are $5... this is a special pre-purchase deal for CMS students!
- Students must enter the stadium through the main gate on 8th Ave. South and successfully pass through the weapon detection system.
- The CMS student section is located in the bleachers by the first ramp nearest the concession stand.
- Students without wristbands will not be allowed in the CMS student section.
- CMS students are not allowed in the high school student section or on the visitor's side.
- Students are expected to be respectful, responsible, good sports, and to socialize appropriately.
- Students not following the expectations may be asked to leave. Students may be banned for multiple games.
- Students who leave the stadium will not be permitted to return.

First day was a success! Can't wait to see you all tomorrow!

School starts tomorrow at CMS! See you bright and early!

Our final new teacher isn't really new to CMS... Greg Kelly was subbing throughout our building last year and now comes on board officially as a Student Success teacher! Welcome Mr. Kelly!
Thanks everyone for "liking" our new teacher posts. We are excited to get this dedicated team to work serving our students!

The CMS 7th Grade Black Team welcomes Becky Milum to the Science lab! A lover of all things outdoors, this gardener is coming back to her "roots" in Clinton after teaching in the Dubuque area for several years. Mrs. Milum's students had better be ready to enjoy the outdoor classroom!

Elizabeth Gosztola enjoyed marching for the Hawkeyes on Duke Slater Field so much that she decided she had to come to Clinton and be the 7th Grade Band Director! General Music students might also get a chance to play the steel pan - one of her passions! Ms. Gosztola will surely make quick friends with Ms. Rue... Swifties unite!

CMS welcomes Amy Peropat to the 8th Grade Black Team to serve Special Education! Mrs. Peropat will share a wide travel and living history with her students, having lived and taught in multiple states. Mrs. Peropat will be an asset to students during their the Zombie Apocalypse project - she loves the movie World War Z!

CMS is excited to welcome Jeffrey Moore to the Choir Director position! Mr. Moore brings middle school teaching experience from Kentucky. Choir and General Music students may hear the Imperial March playing in Room 200! Mr. Moore shared that he will never climb the Great Wall of China... again! Seems like a good story to ask about!

CMS is welcoming Kelly Holland to the Counseling crew! 8th graders will work with Ms. Holland in Counseling class, for support, and as they prepare for high school! Ms. Holland is a U Dubuque and Loras grad, enjoys swimming, and cheers for the Hawkeyes!

CMS is welcoming Jess Hart to the teaching team at the Education Advancement Center! Ms. Hart will bring her Special Education talents to serve students at our district's newest alternative setting. Ms. Hart has a range of interests as wide as her geographic upbringing - she's lived in states all across the country and loves everything from motorcycle riding to renaissance faires!

Both CMS and CHS are welcoming Linda Smithson as our Teacher Librarian! Mrs. Smithson brings a wealth of teaching and literary experience from the Quad Cities. If you like the Black Eyed Peas, the KC Royals, and Wonder Woman, you'll get along great with Mrs. Smithson!

CMS welcomes Zach Olesen to the 6th Grade Band Director podium! Mr. Olesen is a Minnesota native, ISU grad, and enjoys hobbies like woodworking and cooking. Many CMS students will also meet Mr. Olesen in General Music!

CMS is excited to welcome Phil Swanson to the 8th Grade Black Team (yea, that's him in the green)! Mr. Swanson brings years of Math and Synergy teaching experience from Clinton High. This sports lover, story teller, and family man is going to make a big impact at CMS!

The CMS 8th Grade Black Team is welcoming Olivia Hyde to the Language Arts classroom! Mrs. Hyde is a St. Ambrose and Grand Canyon U grad, Blackhawks and Zooey Deschanel fan, and loves to read and write!
