Clinton Middle School along with Clinton Police and Fire will be participating in a Run, Hide, Fight DRILL this afternoon with a volunteer parent/child reunification subset. This DRILL will allow students and staff to practice techniques to stay safe in an intruder event.
There may be some temporary road blockages around CMS during the DRILL. CMS will dismiss as usual at 3:35 PM. If your student needs to be excused for anything in the afternoon, like a doctor appointment, please ensure that you pick your student up before Noon. Students will not be dismissed after that. They will need to wait until regular dismissal time.
Thank you for supporting Clinton Community School District.

4th graders have been learning about contemporary Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes. They designed geometric composition and started painting!

We would like to remind you about a new law (Senate File 2435) aimed at addressing chronic absenteeism in schools across the state of Iowa. Chronic absenteeism refers to students missing 10% or more of a grading period, which can significantly impact their academic success and overall well-being.
Under this new legislation, schools are required to closely monitor student attendance and take proactive steps to address chronic absenteeism. This includes partnering with families to identify barriers to regular attendance, providing support services, and, if necessary, implementing interventions to help students stay on track.
The goal of this law is not punitive, but to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed by attending school regularly. We believe that with your support and collaboration, we can make a positive difference in the lives of our students.
Clinton Community School District appreciates your partnership in supporting student success and well-being!

Alliant Energy has begun solar panel installation at our Royal Solar Field adjacent to our athletic complex! To date, they’ve completed the majority of the support structures for the panels, and will continue solar panel installation for the next few weeks. Activity will slow down over the winter, and then they’ll install the final electrical components early next year before the project is placed into service.
