Congratulations, Sarah Erwin!
We'd like to share what Theresa Shultz, Clinton High School Principal, had to say about Sarah:
"I would like to take a moment to congratulate Sarah Erwin, our At-Risk Coordinator at Clinton High School as the May Gold Key winner. In just three short years, Mrs. Erwin has made an incredible mark on our school, improving graduation rates, increasing student attendance, and spearheading countless initiatives that have made a lasting impact on our school.
Under Sarah’s leadership, our Alternative Program has undergone a remarkable transformation. Not only did she help relocate the program into a new, more conducive building, but she also revitalized and enhanced all of our alternative education pathways, ensuring more students have the support and resources they need to succeed while keeping in mind the whole child and helping build a program that would work for the individual. Her dedication to helping every student find their path to success has truly been inspiring.
Sarah, your work here at Clinton High has been one of compassion, innovation, and commitment. You have worked tirelessly to make sure that students who may have been overlooked or faced challenges were given the opportunity to thrive. Your ability to see potential in every student and guide them toward success is a testament to your incredible skill as an educator and advocate.
While we will miss your leadership and presence at Clinton High, we are also filled with excitement for the future. We have no doubt that you will continue to inspire and lead, bringing the same passion and excellence that you brought to our school."

Eighteen Clinton Middle School students, accompanied by their teacher librarian Linda Smithson and Associate Principal Mindy Dunlap, had the opportunity to attend a special author event at Davenport Central High School featuring bestselling writer Tiffany D. Jackson. Known for powerful books like Monday’s Not Coming and Allegedly, Jackson spoke about her journey as an author, her writing process, and the power students have to make their voices heard. Students left feeling inspired — and with signed books in hand. Many thanks to Central High School, Rock Island High School, Rock Island Public Library, Davenport Public Library and the Friends of the Davenport Public Library for sponsoring this unforgettable experience!
