All four of our elementary schools were represented at the 2025 Iowa Science of Reading Summit this past week in Cedar Rapids! CCSD was the BEST represented school district at the conference! ❤️🖤
The summit consists of 2 days of professional learning hosted by the University of Iowa Reading Research Center -- our elementary teachers, literacy coaches, and principals from Bluff, EH, Jefferson, and Whittier attended sessions on best practices in literacy instruction, general and special education alike, strategies to bolster family engagement in their child's education, and techniques and tools to incorporate innovative technology in the classroom, just to name a few...
So proud of our elementary teams for taking time out of their summer to be the best they can be for our #CCSDStudents!

The attached picture shows the current status of the last Clinton High School Construction phase. The foundation and underground utility work is in progress and steel erection will begin in a few weeks.
The white truck in this picture is parked outside of the future building to the left. This is where the new main office will be located as well as other staff offices, conference rooms, school nurse office, and a large commons area and lunch room. There will be parking and a drop off lane to the right of the future building line.

The June Nutrition Services Employee of the Month is Tara Sirna! Tara is the kitchen manager at Bluff Elementary and has been with the district for almost 13 years. The Bluff kitchen is always so positive and welcoming, which is a result of the fantastic job she does leading the kitchen. Tara is a problem-solver, a forward thinker, determined, and flexible. We appreciate her beyond words and thank her for her hard work and dedication!
