Students and staff are challenged to read a NONFICTION Book this month and enter to win a prize basket of fall goodies! Entry forms can be found with your ELA teachers and the library. November 20th- Clinton Community College fall campus day- For seniors who are planning to attend CCC after high school. December 4th - University of Wisconsin - Platteville. For seniors who are considering UW Platteville and have not yet had an opportunity to visit the campus. Important: For all the college and career visits, students MUST stop by room A227 to sign up, or e-mail Marla Schultz College and Career Transition Counselor at marla.schultz@csdkq.org for more information and to receive special absence forms. Clinton High Drama and Camanche Storm Theater will present Zombie Prom, a nuclear 50's musical on November 1st, 2nd, & 3rd at Camanche High School. Adult tickets are $10. Students and senior citizens are $7. Tickets are available online only. See posters and monitors for the QR code.

There will be a River Queen Wrestling meeting/open mat this Sunday at 6pm. If you plan on wrestling this year please attend this meeting. If you cannot make it please let a coach know!
CHS Conferences are tonight in the Commons from 4 pm to 7 pm and tomorrow 2pm to 7pm.
Mrs. Krueger's classroom will have a special guest speaker on Thursday, October 31 at 2:45 pm in room A 317. The topic of the presentation is the benefits of being bilingual in a workplace. If you would like to attend the presentation, please let Mrs. Krueger know ahead of time.
After-School Tutoring is being offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45 - 4:45 in the New Library! There is no cost. We have staff in most of the core classes available! Please ask a CHS teacher or administrator if you would like to attend! Don’t wait if you are behind in a class.
Please check the due back date on your library books. If they are overdue and you are still reading them please stop in and get them renewed, otherwise please return them so someone else can read them. Thank you.

Congratulations to Elena Brisch for being accepted as a percussionist into the All State Orchestra! On Saturday, 121 percussionists across the state auditioned for the All State ensembles. 13 of those percussionists were selected, and the top 5 scores were placed into the All State Orchestra. Elena is officially one of the top 5 percussionists in the state of Iowa. Elena will travel to Iowa State University on November 21st to rehearse with the All State Orchestra and perform in the All State Festival Concert on November 23rd. Way to go Elena!
On Friday, the River Kings traveled to take on the Clear Creek Amana Clippers in their final football game of the season. The Sophomore River Kings ended their season with a hard fought loss of 30-19. Although the score doesn't show it, the defense kept the game close in the 4th quarter with the Kings amassing 4 turnovers! It was a great season and we are very proud of the progress and growth of the squad. The Varsity Kings put up a solid fighting effort, but in the end fell to the Clippers 56--22. Thank you to the Senior Kings for their years of service, and thank you to the students, staff and fans of Clinton High for all of the support for the River King Football program!! This was a special season we will remember for a long time!!!!

Students: Remember to bring your computers and chargers to school EVERYDAY. Due to the Loaner chargers not getting returned, the library may not have any to borrow. So try to borrow a charger from a friend/classmate if you forget yours. If you borrowed a loaner charger from the library you need to return it NOW. If you need to purchase a new charger, please bring $15.00 to the library.

The Fresh/Soph football team won an exciting game Friday night 28-14! The boys played very hard and put together a great performance. Stand out performances came from, Brody Harrington, Damarius Robinson, Maddux Cooley and Konnor Schroeder. Great job boys, way to end the year!

The Queens were led by many seniors who wouldn't give up and decided to leave everything on the court. Mia Tubbs totaled her second triple-double of the season by terminating 21 kills, digging 15 attacks, and dished out 10 assists. Tubbs attacked at a near 200% clip. Alex Tucker recorded a double-double with 23 assists and 11 digs. The defense was scrappy as Julia Suessmith (aka Gumby) and Quinn Nielsen dug up 14 and 11 digs, respectively. Tucker, Haley Rowden, and Suessmith anchored the back row with 2.00, 1.87, and 1.84 passer rating.on a 3.0 scale. Thanks to those who traveled to DeWitt and we hope to see you at North Scott on Thursday night at 7:00pm. TIckets must be purchased online.


Your River Queen Swimmers competed in the Morrison Reverse Order Invitational last night. The Queens took 2nd place as a team despite being outnumbered and not competing in all of the events. Placing well for the Queens were: Huizenga, Brisch, Kaup, Klinkhammer in the 400 Free and 200 Free Relays, Huizenga-100 Breast, Kaup-100 Back, Perez in the 50 and 100 Free, Brisch 200 Ind. Medley, and Perez, Kaup, Srp and Klinkhammer in the 200 Medley Relay. Your Queens will be competing Sat Oct. 28th in the Muscatine JV Invite and Sat Nov. 4th at the States Regional meet hosted by Davenport Centrals. WISH THE QUEENS GOOD LUCK!!
