The boys soccer team travelled to take on DeWitt on Thursday night. The boys started out strong for the first 15 minutes, controlling the game and dominating possession. The Queens golf team hosted Davenport Central and North yesterday at home. The Queens played well with four girls shooting in the 50s finishing in 2nd place behind Davenport North. The River King JV boys soccer team went to Maquoketa Tuesday night to take on the Cardinals. After a hard fought first half, the game was scoreless. The Kings started off the second half controlling the ball and had many unsuccessful shot attempts, but midway through the second half, Malachi Esser found the back of the net after an error from the Maquoketa goalie. Baltazar Cedillo added a second goal late in the game to seal the 2-0 victory for the river kings. We had great performances all around. It really was a team win. Malachi Esser also earned himself the team's Man of the Match. The JV team's season has come to a close, and they were able to end it on a high note!

It was a beautiful day outside but unfortunately the Queens couldn't find enough fairways and greens at the MAC Conference meet and ended up in 10th place. Whitney Naughton was team medalist for the Queens. Also scoring were Olivia Veenstra, Olivia Parker, and A'Reyae Jetter. The season is quickly winding down and the Queens are hoping to regain some of that confidence they had early on to make a push here in the last part of the regular season to pick up a few more wins before the District meet next week. The Queens host Davenport Central and North tomorrow at Valley Oaks Golf Course starting at 4:00pm.
Mac Championship Team sends champions in doubles Elizabeth Grinnall and Maddie Rowden. Sescie Haan singles champion to state tournament.
The River King boys soccer team hosted Bettendorf for the last home game of the season. JV kicked things off full of energy and fought against a tough bulldog team. The boys defended very well and saw themselves going into half tied 0-0. Bettendorf scored a couple early in the second half, and another late to end it 3-0. Man of the match for the jv kings was Gabi Rocha, who had several fantastic saves leading to the scoreless first half. The varsity boys struggled to get started and found themselves down quickly. They brought more fight into the second half, but the deficit was too much to overcome, losing 10-0 on the night. BJ Cooley was the teams Man of the Match for his performance in goal, as he saved a barrage of shots from the start of the game. The kings also honored their seniors! Thank you and congratulations to Ammar Albaghdadi, BJ Cooley, Sam Hoffman, and Jaxon Spooner!
